Within the lush acres of Chirnside Park, lies the Woorarra house overlooking the views of the surrounding hills and greenery. With a timeless yet contemporary design, the existing farmhouse was transformed into a spacious home featuring an open plan to allow breath taking views.

The room is centered on a large wood burning fireplace which was finished with a reclaimed timber mantle we locally sourced and a plaster finish (Portola Paint). One of a kind vintage pieces such as the accent chair and sofa table add character to the living space.

Central voids funnel a stream of light into the house whilst allowing cross ventilation. The voids provide visual and acoustic separation between rooms, whilst still affording a vertical connection. In order to balance the shared spaces with the need for solitary, private spaces, we were able to convince our Client to extend the brief to incorporate a series of small “interludes”. After the renovation was complete, we took time adding contemporary art and furniture. A live-edge dining table with 8 modern swivel chairs are in a rich gray leather. Four black Milo Baughman chairs circle a Planter coffee table. A Stickbulb lighting fixture makes a statement over the dining room table. A stone fireplace highlights art and collectibles.
