Our clients had a cramped and outdated kitchen that lacked flow. They envisioned a space the family could share, including an eat-in kitchen with an island. Their small master bathroom also needed a facelift, more counter space, and storage options. They desired both spaces to be clean with a modern aesthetic. Thoughtful architectural planning dramatically opened the space in this home to encompass the kitchen, dining, and hallway areas into one unified expanse. JRP removed the soffit and pushed back the appliance wall into the hallway to create the space needed for the central island-a place to hang out while dinner is being made, but also double as an additional food prep area. The cabinetry, along with the quartz backsplash and countertop, made for a clean, modern look. Upstairs, the master bathroom transformed into a clutter-free zen zone. The tiny closet and outdated vanity were removed and replaced by an integrated counter space with white oak cabinetry, drawers, and open space shelving. The dated round-framed mirrors were swapped out in favor of one large, singular mirror. The most used areas in this home are now comfortable and polished with surfaces that are both simple and easy to clean. This remodel design embraces modern living at its best. In our world of kitchen design, it’s lovely to see all the varieties of styles come to life. From traditional to modern, and everything in between, we love to design a broad spectrum. Here, we present a two-tone modern kitchen that has used materials in a fresh and eye-catching way. With a mix of finishes, it blends perfectly together to create a space that flows and is the pulsating heart of the home. With the main cooking island and gorgeous prep wall, the cook has plenty of space to work. The second island is perfect for seating – the three materials interacting seamlessly, we have the main white material covering the cabinets, a short grey table for the kids, and a taller walnut top for adults to sit and stand while sipping some wine! I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend time in this kitchen?! Cabinetry With a tuxedo trend look, we used Cabico Elmwood New Haven door style, walnut vertical grain in a natural matte finish. The white cabinets over the sink are the Ventura MDF door in a White Diamond Gloss finish. Countertops The white counters on the perimeter and on both islands are from Caesarstone in a Frosty Carrina finish, and the added bar on the second countertop is a custom walnut top (made by the homeowner!) with a shorter seated table made from Caesarstone’s Raw Concrete. Backsplash The stone is from Marble Systems from the Mod Glam Collection, Blocks – Glacier honed, in Snow White polished finish, and added Brass. Fixtures A Blanco Precis Silgranit Cascade Super Single Bowl Kitchen Sink in White works perfect with the counters. A Waterstone transitional pulldown faucet in New Bronze is complemented by matching water dispenser, soap dispenser, and air switch. The cabinet hardware is from Emtek – their Trinity pulls in brass. Appliances The cooktop, oven, steam oven and dishwasher are all from Miele. The dishwashers are paneled with cabinetry material (left/right of the sink) and integrate seamlessly Refrigerator and Freezer columns are from SubZero and we kept the stainless look to break up the walnut some. The microwave is a counter sitting Panasonic with a custom wood trim (made by Cabico) and the vent hood is from Zephyr.

3D tiles on the kitchen backsplash in this modern coastal open concept kitchen and dining room offers a unique flair to an otherwise clean and modern space. Design elements include high-end finishes, painted and glazed wood cabinetry, wood-look porcelain tile floors, quartz stone counter-tops and stainless steel appliances. White crown molding at the top of the cabinetry extends the height of the cabinets makes the ceilings appear higher.

Favorite part of this Kitchen is the Kitchen étagère rather than floating shelves.

This kitchen was a fraction of the size it is now and compartmentalized in a way that really didn't encourage family gathering. Now - come on in and take your pick...it's all open, and inviting, bright and happy! Part of our direction was the bullet-proof nature of the space. The porcelain wood plank floors are durable and easy to clean. The Cleaf material on the cabinets are a workhorse material to consider. And the DalTile One Quartz counter top material is easy to clean and resistant to stains while emulating a marble look. I consider myself a purist, but damn...porcelain and engineered quartz has evolved leaps and bounds from what they once were.

This project was one of my favourites to date. The client had given me complete freedom to design a featured kitchen that was big on functionality, practicality and entertainment as much as it was big in design. The mixture of dark timber grain, high-end appliances, LED lighting and minimalistic lines all came together in this stunning, show-stopping kitchen. As you make your way from the front door to the kitchen, it appears before you like a marble masterpiece. The client's had chosen this beautiful natural Italian marble, so maximum use of the marble was the centrepiece of this project. Once I received the pictures of the selected slabs, I had the idea of using the featured butterfly join as the splashback. I was able to work with the 3D team to show how this will look upon completion, and the results speak for themselves. The 3Ds had made the decisions much clearer and gave the clients confidence in the finishes and design. Every project must not only be aesthetically beautiful but should always be practical and functional for the day to day grind... this one has it all!

We removed the wall with display cabinet that completely blocked the view to the kitchen. Our custom cabinet maker fabricated the 2nd island cabinetry and quartzite countertops were installed to match the existing island.
