Trading their 10’x7′ galley kitchen with this 13’x30′ gourmet kitchen with 48″ stark blue professional gas range, a 5’x14′ center island equipped with prep sink, wine cooler, ice maker, microwave and lots of storage space. Front and back windows, 13′ cathedral ceiling offers lots of daylight and sparks up this beautiful kitchen. Tall Espresso cabinetry complimented with contrasting island, and breathtaking stone counter tops stands off through large opening from old home to new kitchen. The big load bearing wall and old kitchen was removed and opened up old home to new kitchen, all partition walls between kitchen, dining and living room were gone and given a total open floor plan. Replacing old carpet steps and wood rails with dark wood and cable yarn railing system bringing this home into new era. Entire first floor was now covered with wide plank exotic wood floors and a large scale porcelain tiles in kitchen floor. The entire exterior was replaced with cement board red planks siding and contrasting flat panel of grey boards bordered in with chrome trim. New front door, new Architectural shingles spruced up into 21st century home that they desired. The kitchen and dining room of this 1930’s semi-detached house were originally separate, and both were small in size and in desperate need of updating. The brief was to create an open plan, contemporary and low maintenance kitchen-diner suitable for entertaining guests and cooking for the family. Monochromatic, yet with character oozing from every Copper surface, the kitchen takes functionality to the next level with clever uses of space such as a walk-in larder and open racked shelving, and the angled Glass extractor creates ample headroom above the super-wide range.

Telling the story of the kitchen from the first glance in, our Crittall style Steel glazed door features a patinated Copper lower panel and fire rated Glass throughout and matches both the kitchen windows and french doors between the Dining room and Garden.

A modern take on the classic black and white kitchen floor, these beautiful tiles from Artisans of Devizes are laid over a very clever electric underfloor heating system from Vario-Pro to keep heat under feet.

A workshop favourite of ours because of their beautiful versatility, the Steel shelves feature butler style plate storage and a range of levels of both mesh and solid shelving, with cup hooks adorning the underside. Constructed in solid Steel bar and Copper mesh, finished in satin black paint.

The flat black Valchromat doors and panels are almost reminiscent of black granite, with light flecks of fibres running through the panels on close inspection to give the mirror polished material a feel of texture and depth, finished off with our unassuming raw Steel grab handles to complete the utilitarian aesthetic. The cabinets themselves are constructed in Birch Ply; oiled, sanded and polished until all surfaces are as smooth as glass.
