This modern home renovation designed by Sheri Lemire at SDL Designs features an open concept kitchen and family room with stainless steel appliances, high-end finishes, tile done by Mira Flooring, and a Cozy heat 50 linear fireplace by Urban Fireplace. Inline Glasscraft did the glass staircase in the entry and the double sliding shower doors in the master bathroom. Ocean Pacific Lighting did the fantastic luminated mirrors.

This 3,569-square foot, 3-story new build was part of Dallas's Green Build Program. This minimalist rocker pad boasts beautiful energy efficiency, painted brick, wood beams and serves as the perfect backdrop to Dallas' favorite landmarks near popular attractions, like White Rock Lake and Deep Ellum; a melting pot of art, music, and nature. Walk into this home and you're greeted with industrial accents and minimal Mid-Century Modern flair. Expansive windows flood the open-floor plan living room/dining area in light. The homeowner wanted a pristine space that reflects his love of alternative rock bands. To bring this into his new digs, all the walls were painted white and we added pops of bold colors through custom-framed band posters, paired with velvet accents, vintage-inspired patterns, and jute fabrics. A modern take on hippie style with masculine appeal. A gleaming example of how eclectic-chic living can have a place in your modern abode, showcased by nature, music memorabilia and bluesy hues. The bedroom is a masterpiece of contrast. The dark hued walls contrast with the room's luxurious velvet cognac bed. Fluted mid-century furniture is found alongside metal and wood accents with greenery, which help to create an opulent, welcoming atmosphere for this home. “When people come to my home, the first thing they say is that it looks like a magazine! As nice as it looks, it is inviting and comfortable and we use it. I enjoyed the entire process working with Veronica and her team. A kitchen that moves to the beat, recreating the thrills of a Highway 66 lifestyle: for fans of roaring Harleys, roadhouse concerts, and the rich, velvety sound of electric guitars. Ample, well-designed spaces where every piece of decor follows a very specific scheme, careful to keep the tempo of the stylistic cues that make this kitchen so evocative and unique. Rock’n Roll is inspired by the legends of the past, with pieces that would be right at home on stage, rocking and rolling up their sleeves to help tackle the everyday challenges of life.

After demo day one we uncovered a few things behind some walls that forced us to completely reconfigure the kitchen layout mid construction. It resulted in a much more functional layout for the kitchen that the clients are thrilled with.

The existing narrow kitchen was renovated and expanded into the adjacent dining room area. The removal of a wall that separated the two spaces resulted in an open kitchen and dining area designed to be more suitable to modern living. The new kitchen acts as both a gathering place for the family and a functional work space. The renovation features custom wood cabinetry, stone countertops, stainless steel appliances, a large center island with seating, hardwood flooring, and a combination of recessed top-hat and pendant lighting. The homeowners saved money by re-using the existing appliances.

After the fire, the retired couple wanted an open space in place of their galley kitchen; re-use the mosaic backsplash and fill the imposing void of the new, soaring 16 foot ceiling. Cabinets arranged in a harmonious pattern leading to the focal point create sculpture. 1- Hood angle parallels the ceiling towards refrigerator, similar to connecting the stars of a constellation. 2- The refrigerator cabinet angles to the ceiling at the spot where the right side of the hood points to the ceiling. 3- Unifying the sculpture, both cabinets intersect at the ceiling . 4- The focal point is the negative space between cabinets. 5- The glass cabinet doors are Golden Rectangles 15”x 24-½” with square cut outs. The 42” Sub-Zero paneled with Golden Rectangle inserts unifies the arrangement. The Wolf cook top is discrete.

Crafted with keen attention to even the tinest detail, it features a costant emphasis on materials, combining natural-finish wood with metal, glass, and soft shades of lacquer. These elements are mingled and alternated in the counters, appliances, and decorative accessories, giving particular care to coordinate them so that the skillful use of color and harmony of form creates a homey, inviting atmosphere, characterized by unique furnishings and sophisticated design.
