This moody German Style Kitchen is designed around simplicity and clean lines. Every aspect of this design is based on minimalism, so a glass splashback was never up for debate. Similar to the cabinetry itself, the glass splashbacks minimal lines, and neutral colour do nothing to detract from the room or view. This large space is over five metres from the window (and source of light) however, the glass splashback acts as a mirror, reflecting both light and the sea view!

Contemporary German Kitchen in Rustington, West Sussex Aron has created a subtle grey theme for this Rustington project, with natural surfaces and lovely personal inclusions. The Brief This Rustington client required a modernisation of their kitchen space with special inclusions to suit the way they wanted to use their new kitchen. A breakfast bar island was sought after, as a place to perch and for casual eating, with a gloss finish and soft pastel tones a preferred theme. Whilst undertaking the works flooring and heating improvements were also required. Design Elements Designer Aron conjured a simple u-shape layout to make the most of this space, incorporating a breakfast bar as required, with decorative storage featured above. Gloss furniture in a Satin Grey finish has been utilised, which reflects around the space to make the room feel larger. The furniture is complemented by Silestone Quartz surfaces, which have been chosen in a natural grey Moorland Fog finish. The client has chosen to incorporate their favoured pastel colour in the form of a glass splashback, which works well with the Satin Grey cabinetry. Karndean flooring has been installed within the kitchen as well as in most of the downstairs space in this property. A full-height radiator has also been installed to provide plenty of warmth to the kitchen. Special Inclusions High-performance Neff appliances were specified to provide long-lasting functions to the kitchen. The client has opted for a single Slide & Hide oven, combination oven and warming drawer to help them with cooking duties. Elsewhere a Neff hob, integrated extractor hood and refrigerator complete the appliance requirements for this project. To decorate the space, this client has opted for some nice storage areas. An underlit shelf is a nice feature and space to store decorative items, which looks particularly nice with the undercabinet lighting also opted for. Quartz work surfaces have been installed on the large window sill, which has been nicely decorated with plants and decorations. Project Highlight The highlight of this project was the breakfast bar area. It provides a place to eat at any time of day or a nice space to catch up with friends and has been enhanced with glass-fronted wall cabinets and integrated lighting. This area also helps to equip the kitchen with extra built-in storage. The End Result The end result is a kitchen that incorporates all the requirements of the client and more! Neubau / Einfamilienhaus / Landkreis Rosenheim / PROJEKT J.S.K.T. Nach intensiver Vorbereitungszeit und variantenreicher Entwurfsphase entstand dieses architektonische Einfamilienhaus am Ortsrand in Thansau der Gemeinde Rohrdorf. Wunsch des Bauherrn war eine kubische Flachdachvilla mit Vor- und Rücksprüngen, die für Dynamik und Maßstabslosigkeit sorgen. Wir begrüßten diese Haltung und sorgten dafür, dass diese Elemente auch eine Funktion erhielten. Die Herausforderung war, die Wünsche des Bauherrn, den vorgegebenen Budgetrahmen, die Architektur sowie den konventionellen Bebauungsplan für ein oberbayerisches allgemeines Wohngebiet (WA) in Einklang zu bringen. Das Ergebnis zeigt, dass traditionell gestaltete B-Pläne durchaus Möglichkeiten für gute Architektur bieten. Aus dem gewünschten Flachdach wurde baurechtlich motiviert ein gleichschenkeliges Satteldach, das im Innenraum durchaus Vorzüge bietet (z.B. eine Schlafgalerie im Kinderzimmer im Dachspitz, sowie mehr Luftraum in den restlichen Obergeschoss-Räumen). Formgebende Vorsprünge wurden in einem ortstypischen Vordachmaß realisiert. Diese Vorsprünge dienen neben der Skulpturenbildung als Vordächer, Regen- und Sonnenschutz sowie als eine Art Pergola für die großzügige West-Terrasse. Diese Maßnahme vergrößert das räumliche Empfinden im Innenraum. Unterstützt wird dieser Eindruck auch durch das „Ineinanderübergehen“ des Wohnbereichs mit der Terrasse. Die Grenzen von Innen und Außen verschwinden – Außen ist Innen und Innen ist Außen. Um den skulpturalen Eindruck zu verstärken zeigt sich das Gebäude mit einem kontrastreichen, zweifärbigen Farbanstrich. Der architektonische Fassadenanspruch setzt sich im Inneren fort. Eine auskragende Stahl-Faltwerk-Treppe verbindet Skulptur und Funktion, sowie die Geschosse. Multifunktionsmöbel ersetzen Raumtrennwände. Der Küche-, Ess- und Terrassenbereich zeigt sich gemütlich, aufgeräumt und detaildurchdacht und lässt viel Platz für Persönliches. Der tiefer liegende Wohnbereich erinnert an eine Art Koje und eignet sich bestens als Rückzugsort zum Wohlfühlen. Das Obergeschoss strukturiert sich in einen Eltern- und einen Kinderbereich. Die Fassadenöffnungen leiten sich funktional ab. Richtung Nachbarbebauung sind die Öffnungen äußerst dosiert eingesetzt. Richtung Süden und Westen offenbart das Grundstück sein Potential – nämlich den unverbaubaren Bergblick. Was für unsere Architektur bedeutete, das Gebäude Richtung Bergblick maximal zu öffnen und somit die Natur mit dem Wohnraum zu verweben. Um die gestalterischen und funktionalen Ansprüche auch in Hinblick auf das Budget realisieren zu können, wählten wir für die Konstruktion eine Holz-Massiv-Bauweise. Diese spart Konstruktionsflächen und erhöht somit die Wohnfläche – höhere Spannweiten werden bei geringem Konstruktionsvolumen erreicht. Außerdem erlaubt diese – im Gegensatz zur Massivbauweise mit Ziegel und Stahlbeton – Bauteile von innen nach außen zu führen und geht mit einem geringen Dämm- und Abdichtungsaufwand einher. Des Weiteren bietet diese Konstruktionsart einen erhöhten Wärmeschutz bei nur geringen Schalleinbußen sowie eine schnellere Rohbauerstellung (durch Verbauen von vorgefertigten Elementen), kürzere Austrocknungszeiten und dadurch eine kürzere Bauzeit. Bei diesem Bauprojekt verkürzte sich die Bauzeit im Vergleich zur Ziegel-Massiv-Bauweise um ca. 3 Monate. Nicht zuletzt konnten wir durch die Holz-Massiv-Bauweise die Geschossdeckenstärke kompakter halten und erzielten somit höhere Wohnräume. Architektonisch hervorzuheben ist bei der Holz-Massiv-Bauweise außerdem, dass durch die innenseitige Trockenbauverkleidung bereits mit dem Rohbau sämtliche Wände eben und glatt sind. Mittels einer Q3-Spachtelung entsteht eine äußerst hochwertige Endoberfläche die im Vergleich zu einem Ziegelhaus mit gespachtelter Endoberfläche nur einen Bruchteil kostet. Bei einem Haus mit innenarchitektonischem Anspruch hat ein toleranzenger Rohbau Priorität. Jedes Anschlussgewerk kann nur so toleranzgetreu arbeiten wie das Vorgewerk es zulässt (z.B. beim Einbau von Blockzargen mit Schattenfugen, sockelloser Fußbodenanschluss etc.).

Client came to us needing help visualizing the desperately needed remodel of her newly acquired, but very outdated La Jolla Condo. Nothing had been done, and soon it became clear it all had to come down to the studs, starting over with new electrical etc. But the view was worth it! The kitchen was small and dark and the space needed to be opened up to take full advantage of the light and the ocean breeze. Once it was clear that the kitchen wall could be removed (minus one post we had to work around), the open space-plan easily fell into place. Dark base TOCCO CONTINO cabinets are grounding the room while the high-gloss white lacquer wall and tall cabinets (LARGO-FG) reflect back the colors of the ocean and blue sky. The large island was very important to the client, knowing her family would sit, work, chat, cook and eat there. Countertops were a mix of pre-fabricated Quartz from LEICHT, and for the island, the focal point, a natural Quartzite brought in the look and feel of a sandy beach. Appliances were a mix of Thermador and Miele, since they were disguised by paneling the fronts. One challenge was the small and only elevator to the 4th floor, with a staircase equally as narrow… We had to pre-plan all large cabinets, appliances and countertops, to assure delivery into the condo was possible.

The sliding door to the left of the cooktop leads into a large scullery. Cabinets in two colours: Proform Eggerboard Matt black cabinets and Laminex Sublime Teak Riven finish cabinets. Recently completed – an extensive refurbishment and modernisation of a 1950’s detached house in Harrow. A full width two storey extension providing much needed additional living / dining and kitchen space with a double bedroom above. Project overseen from initial design through planning and construction.
