Keith met this couple from Hastings at Grand Designs who stumbled upon his talk on Creating Kitchens with Light Space & Laughter. A contemporary look was their wish for the new kitchen extension and had been disappointed with previous kitchen plan/designs suggested by other home & kitchen retailers. We made a few minor alterations to the architecture of their new extension by moving the position of the utility room door, stopped the kitchen island becoming a corridor and included a secret bookcase area which they love. We also created a link window into the lounge area that opened up the space and allowed the outdoor area to flow into the room with the use of reflected glass. The window was positioned opposite the kitchen island with cushioned seating to admire their newly landscaped garden and created a build-down above. The design comprises SieMatic Pure S2 collection in Sterling Grey, Miele appliances with 12mm Dekton worktops and 30mm Spekva Breakfast Bar on one corner of the Island for casual dining or perching.

本計画は名古屋市の歴史ある閑静な住宅街にあるマンションのリノベーションのプロジェクトで、夫婦と子ども一人の3人家族のための住宅である。 設計時の要望は大きく２つあり、ダイニングとキッチンが豊かでゆとりある空間にしたいということと、物は基本的には表に見せたくないということであった。 インテリアの基本構成は床をオーク無垢材のフローリング、壁・天井は塗装仕上げとし、その壁の随所に床から天井までいっぱいのオーク無垢材の小幅板が現れる。LDKのある主室は黒いタイルの床に、壁・天井は寒水入りの漆喰塗り、出入口や家具扉のある長手一面をオーク無垢材が7m以上連続する壁とし、キッチン側の壁はワークトップに合わせて御影石としており、各面に異素材が対峙する。洗面室、浴室は壁床をモノトーンの磁器質タイルで統一し、ミニマルで洗練されたイメージとしている。

Adding warmth to the modern theme is a backsplash that runs the perimeter of the U-shaped kitchen, featuring Daltile Restore Bright White 6”x6” ceramic wall tile (purchased from Home Depot); Ivy Hill Tile flooring in Hexagon Gray (9.87”x11.375”), also purchased from Home Depot; and lastly, custom wood shelves from the contractor NW Homeworks. The look was completed with Annalore Flush Mount Aged Brass overhead lighting from Lulu and Georgia. “Our favorite part is that there is so much more cabinet and counter space available now, and that the overall kitchen footprint feels much larger and more open,” she says.

The Brief Our client's brief? To create a contemporary yet timeless kitchen that maximises storage and workspaces while providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Furniture We opted for the minimalist, Pronorm Y-line Arctic White Lacquer & Stratus Grey Lacquer cabinets. The combination of white and grey hues adds depth and contrast to the space, while the lacquered finish enhances durability, making the space both functional and stylish. To complement the clean lines of the cabinetry, we selected a beautiful Artscut Bianco Mysterio Quartz countertop. The silky-smooth finish of the quartz surface provides an ideal workspace for meal prep and cooking, while its natural-looking veining adds depth and character to the kitchen. Appliances & Accessories We were keen to incorporate appliances and accessories that enhance the kitchen's efficiency without compromising its design. The Blanco sink, filter tap, and soap dispenser provide ensure functionality, while the Neff appliances and Bora hob add a touch of innovation and style. The Smoked Grey mirror splashback adds a subtle touch of glamour and reflects light throughout the kitchen, creating a bright and airy ambience. Hier fertigten wir eine sehr geräumige Küche mit Kücheninsel. Die Oberflächen sind aus einem anthrazitfarbendem Anti-Fingerprint Schichtstoff (Fenix). Durch die Pocket-Türen kann die Küche ihre Ansicht wechseln und zusätzlich Arbeitsfläche bieten, während sie im geschlossenen Zustand mit den anderen Fronten eine puristische Einheit bilden. Neben hochwertigen Geräten von Bora und Miele ist ebenfalls ein Quooker-Wasserhahn installiert. Eine dünne Arbeitsplatte aus Stein ist nicht nur optisch schön, sonern auch optimal zu pflegen.
