The building is comprised of three volumes, supported by a heavy timber frame, and set upon a terraced ground plane that closely follows the existing topography. Linking the volumes, the circulation path is highlighted by large cuts in the skin of the building. These cuts are infilled with a wood framed curtainwall of glass offset from the syncopated structural grid. En contraste con la fachada a la calle, la fachada posterior de la vivienda se abre a la parcela para favorecer la iluminación y soleamiento del interior, así como la conexión visual permanente dentro/fuera.

The accent is of 6” STK Channeled rustic cedar. The outside corners are Xtreme corners from Tamlyn. Soffits are tongue and groove 1x4 tight knot cedar with a black continous vent.

La Caracola seashore house Design 2004, finish built 2010-11 Located at Tres Vidas Golf Course seashore of the Pacific Ocean, the house is integrated by a set of boxes that are displayed in order to enjoy a variety of different views. The heart of the house remains as an open central space which gathers the ground level deck and the swimming pool area. The boundary between the private plot and the Gulf Course is lost. This idea of "a none identify limit" provoke amplitude landscape vision reading strategy. And the house is to be perceived as being inside the gulf course. The main landscape layout is composed by a grid of superimposed transversal lines, which achieve the effect of vegetation planes framing the construction. The Master bedroom is an elevated structural concrete tube supported by two rectangular column points, by doing this, the bedrooms main area is divided in two, creating open space that performs as a large observatory deck. Making shadow areas is of paramount importance to respond to the vey heat and humid conditions of the seashore. The pool designed by Architect Greta Hauser is treated as a sole plan or a rug, making a poetic apparition into the gulf course a main element of landscape and recreation. The house design by Pierre Hoppenot, Studio PHH Architecture includes eco-friendly and sustainable solutions: solar panels on the roof allow the home to export electricity back to the grid; salvaged teak from Myanmar covers portions of both interior and exterior walls; and the garage includes electric car chargers.

Este proyecto se sitúa en una gran parcela rodeada de otras viviendas unifamiliares, la planta primera goza de vistas prácticamente a 360º, destacando en la orientación Sur el faro de la isla del aire y en la Norte la bocana del puerto de Maó y la fortaleza de la Mola. La casa se sitúa en la parte más alta de la parcela, para maximizar las vistas a la vez que tener la mayor parte posible de jardín orientado a Sur. La forma de la casa responde a dos cuestiones aparentemente antagónicas, maximizar las vistas a la vez que protegerse de las inclemencias meteorológicas habituales en la urbanización del levante menorquín. Respecto a la distribución interior, y en disonancia con lo usual en la urbanización, hemos decidido situar la zona de día en planta primera, con grandes terrazas conectadas con el jardín, para así asegurar las vistas desde los espacios en los que se hará más vida.

L'ensemble de l'aspect exterieur a été modifié. L'ajout de la terrasse et du majestueux escalier, le carport pour 2 voitures, les gardes corps vitrés et le bardage périphérique de la maison.
