With form and function in mind, these North Dallas homeowners wanted to update their hall bathroom, particularly for their daughter’s use. The existing bathroom was dark and dated and featured an unsightly powder blue ceramic tile, short ceiling, and a shell sink vanity. The homeowners had visions of removing the existing bathtub and replacing it with a new walk-in shower and updating the hall bathroom with sleek, modern finishes. OUR CREATIVE SOLUTION Working with the design and build team at Blackline Renovations, we removed the existing “furr down” (the enclosed area between the cabinets and ceiling) instantly making the space feel much larger. By removing one of the sinks and building a more functional, smaller single vanity, we opened up enough space to shift over the toilet and build in a spacious, walk-in shower. A shallow, full-height linen cabinet was installed in the dead space behind the door to maximize the functionality of the space. To create the homeowner’s desired modern aesthetic, we installed streamlined, full overlay style cabinetry with slab doors and drawers. Complimenting the sleek cabinet style, we installed large format porcelain tile on the floor in a straight lay pattern. The shower walls were designed with large, white subway tile and the floor tile was cut down and installed as accent bands in the shower surround to create continuity in the space. Polished Brizo Sotria chrome fixtures, a white quartz countertop, frameless vanity mirror, frameless shower door, and polished chrome hardware cap off this simple. yet beautiful modern bathroom makeover.

This modern bathroom design in Cohasset is a striking, stylish room with a Tedd Wood Luxury Line Cabinetry Monticello door style vanity in a vibrant blue finish with black glaze that includes both open and closed storage. The cabinet finish is beautifully contrasted by an Alleanza Calacatta Bettogli polished countertop, with the sills, built in shower bench and back splash all using the same material supplied by Boston Bluestone. Atlas Hardwares Elizabeth Collection in warm brass is the perfect hardware to complement the blue cabinetry in this vibrant bathroom remodel, along with the Kate & Laurel Minuette 24 x 36 mirror in gold and Mitzi Anya wall sconces in brass. The vanity space includes two Kohler Archer undermount sinks with Grohe Atrio collection faucets. The freestanding Victoria + Albert Trivento bathtub pairs with a Grohe Atrio floor mounted tub faucet. The tub area includes a custom designed archway and recessed shelves that make this a stunning focal point in the bathroom design. The custom alcove shower enclosure includes a built in bench, corner shelves, and accent tiled niche, along with Grohe standard and handheld showerheads. The tile selections from MSI are both a practical and stylish element of this design with Dymo Stripe White 12 x 24 glossy tile on the shower walls, Bianco Dolomite Pinwheel polished tile for the niche, and Georama Grigio polished tile for the shower floor. Our clients wanted to update the bathroom on the main floor to reflect the style of the rest of their home. The clean white lines, gold fixtures and floating vanity give this space a very elegant and modern look.

We were asked to create a very elegant master bathroom in this period 70's residence. We left many of the adjacent elements and finishes in place but created an entirely new aesthetic in the bathroom and dressing area. Four wing walls of low-iron glass are used in conjunction with the dramatic rear wall of Italian marble, beautifully book matched. Floors are 30 X 30 porcelain tiles. The pair of medicine cabinets left up to revel ample storage within the deep cabinets. Walnut cabinetry is custom designed by our studio. The skylight features a completely concealed shade which blocks out the sunlight completely, for those weekend days when you might want to sleep in late. The Kipling house is a new addition to the Montrose neighborhood. Designed for a family of five, it allows for generous open family zones oriented to large glass walls facing the street and courtyard pool. The courtyard also creates a buffer between the master suite and the children's play and bedroom zones. The master suite echoes the first floor connection to the exterior, with large glass walls facing balconies to the courtyard and street. Fixed wood screens provide privacy on the first floor while a large sliding second floor panel allows the street balcony to exchange privacy control with the study. Material changes on the exterior articulate the zones of the house and negotiate structural loads.
