Right from the beginning it was evident that this Coquitlam Renovation was unique. It’s first impression was memorable as immediately after entering the front door, just past the dining table, there was a tree growing in the middle of home! Upon further inspection of the space it became apparent that this home had undergone several alterations during its lifetime... Additional details like the geometric wall paper in the foyer, the vintage light fixture in the living room, and the bold drapery help to tie everything together to create a cohesive mid-century modern feel throughout the entire home.
Brittany Stiles DesignBuilt on Frank Sinatra’s estate, this custom home was designed to be a fun and relaxing weekend retreat for our clients who live full time in Orange County. As a second home and playing up the mid-century vibe ubiquitous in the desert, we departed from our clients’ more traditional style to create a modern and unique space with the feel of a boutique hotel. Classic mid-century materials were used for the architectural elements and hard surfaces of the home such as walnut flooring and cabinetry, terrazzo stone and straight set brick walls, while the furnishings are a more eclectic take on modern style. We paid homage to “Old Blue Eyes” by hanging a 6’ tall image of his mug shot in the entry.
Windhill BuildersSUNDAYS IN PATTON PARK
This elegant Hamilton, MA home, circa 1885, was constructed with high ceilings, a grand staircase, detailed moldings and stained glass. The character and charm allowed the current owners to overlook the antiquated systems, severely outdated kitchen and dysfunctional floor plan. The house hadn’t been touched in 50+ years but the potential was obvious. Putting their faith in us, we updated the systems, created a true master bath, relocated the pantry, added a half bath in place of the old pantry, installed a new kitchen and reworked the flow, all while maintaining the home’s original character and charm.

Transition I SpaceA dining pavilion that floats in the water on the city side of the house and floats in air on the rural side of the house. There is waterfall that runs under the house connecting the orthogonal pond on the city side with the free form pond on the rural side.
Rod Sidley ArchitectsStainless steel handrail replaced a half wall where the foyer overlooked the sunken living room. Storefront aluminum door and sidelights with frosted glass and custom louvered transom.

The large item you're looking at this picture is a stacked 1960's bedroom set from the clients collection. It was placed in a section of the apartment that was once a closet with double sliding doors. One door was taken out to fit the bedroom set while the other side was still used to hang clothes. This side is disguised by the white wall with a single piece of artwork hanging. By using a piano hinge the door didn't require a knob, making it look exactly like a wall continuing into the living room.
