ミッドセンチュリースタイルの寝室のレイアウトで考えたいこと

おしゃれにしたい、かわいいファブリックを使いたい、落ち着いた雰囲気の空間にしたいなど、普段あまり人を招き入れることがないプライベートな寝室に求める機能や条件はそれぞれあることでしょう。ただ、どんなレイアウトの寝室であっても共通して言えることは、“なるべく部屋の構成要素を少なくする” ということです。寝る直前に情報が多すぎると脳が休まらず、快眠できないと言われていますが、ミッドセンチュリースタイルの寝室のインテリアにおいても、そういった気遣いは必要になるでしょう。カラフルすぎる、あるいは柄がやけに目に留まる壁紙や、明るすぎる電気、ごちゃごちゃとした印象の乱雑なベッドルームでは、心も身体も休まるところがありません。迷いが生じたり、要素が多くなりそうになったら、シンプル・イズ・ベストの精神に立ち帰るのが基本となりそうです。 1R（ワンルーム）マンションでもプライベートなスペースは確保しておきたいもの。寝室のレイアウトに間仕切りを用いることで人目につきにくくなります。天井の高さがある程度確保できれば、天蓋を使うという選択も部屋の印象をがらっと変える効果があります。 採光も求めたいポイントのひとつ。朝の太陽の光は体をスッキリと目覚めさせる効果があると言われています。ただし、強すぎる光は暑さとの戦いになるので、遮光カーテンの導入や窓ガラスに工夫を施すといいでしょう。やわらかな陽の光を寝室全体に取り入れられるよう、設計前に業者と相談できるといいですね。

ミッドセンチュリースタイルの寝室の照明

寝室の照明を暗めに設定する人が多いですが、いったい何ワットがベストなのでしょうか。一説には8畳の部屋でトータル260ワット程度の明るさが適していると言われているそうで、雑誌などを広げたときに無理なく読める程度の明るさが目安です。また、照明の色によっても部屋の印象は大きく異なります。色温度が低く温かみのあるオレンジ色の電球色は一日の終わりにぴったりな心を落ち着かせる効果が。家族と共有の寝室であれば、先に寝ている人に対する配慮も必要です。寝室の模様替えの際に、リモコンやスマートフォンアプリなどで、手元で調光できるような仕組みをリクエストしておくといいでしょう。シーリングライトだけでなく、スタンド式、壁掛け式などの間接照明や、調光器をうまく組み合わせて明るさを自在に調整し、さらなる快適な部屋づくりを目指しましょう。

好きな香りを寝室に

ミッドセンチュリースタイルの寝室 (ベッドルーム) を真のやすらぎの空間にしたいのであれば、香りに気を使ってみるのもいいですね。ラベンダーやネロリ、スイート・オレンジの香りは、不安や緊張から心と身体をときほぐし、安眠効果をもたらします。キャンドルはうっかり消し忘れなどがあって危険なので、タイマー式や、熱源を使用しないアロマディヒューザーなどが重宝しそうです。 日々のパフォーマンスに大きく影響する睡眠。快眠できない、ダルさが残るなどの不調を感じたらすぐに見なおすべき部屋が寝室 (ベッドルーム) です。
