Situato in collina, vicino i Castelli Romani, questo giardino offre la possibilità di rivivere le sensazioni, i profumi e i colori della macchia mediterranea. Il planting design da me studiato vuole restituire la sensazione più naturale possibile, attirando allo stempo lo sguardo del fruitore con disegni geometrici sapientemente inseriti. 4 mesi di progettazione, 1 anno di realizzazione, è tra i miei lavori più meritevoli e complessi.

This garden has been created thinking about the concept of Essence in two meanings: the first, and more obvious, concerns the extract obtained from a plant; the second, the deep human feeling of “being”, the intrinsic nature of self. In an era where every resource is widely available, we can easily forget about the true meaning of wellbeing. This garden wants to focus on the production of wellbeing and explore the relationship between nature and health. The productive space develops around a spiral, a link to classic architecture and to the pattern commonly found in nature. The curved path sits on a rocky landscape encuraging a slow walking pace. The planting all around aims to stimulate the visual and olfactory senses: from the sculptural olive trees to the aromatic borders, almost all the species selected have uses in aromatherapy as medicines or cosmetics. At the center of the garden a seating area invites the visitors to settle back, while a gentle sound of dripping water transports them into a serene meditative state. A close up of Correa 'Ivory Bells' - a great drought tolerant part sun option for the areas of low sunlight. This garden had great bones - it just needed some space planning and a little TLC. We removed an old and not very attractive rose garden to create a new decomposed granite seating area with a custom fire pit and some olive trees. The rest of the garden got a major landscape re-do, with low water plants, lawn area replaced with Kurapia, drip irrigation and LED landscape lighting. The clients are delighted with the new space and what with the lighting and firepit, can really enjoy this gorgeous garden!
