The transformation from a registered landslide hillside to a stunning garden oasis, is truly breathtaking. The pool was updated and the Corten steel arbor cleverly cantilevered on this 5 acre property. Using a crib wall system (Slope Block) allowed us to create lush terraces from toe to top - garden pathways lined with boulders create the illusion they were always there. The Slope Block was acid stained and planted so they eye can see just a hint of the bones through the lush California and Australian native plants and trees.

A warm Tuscan color pallet was chosen for all exterior walls: warm gold for the portico, butter honey cream on stucco walls, and sand on all architectural accent lines. New outdoor lighting fixtures were installed on the walls: anchor bronze pendant lamps with amber-even-opaque-antique glass.

A beautiful, Mediterranean Revival home inspired this romantic terraced garden. Extensive lawns were replaced with honey-colored flagstone paths and silvery Dymondia margaretae. Traditional plants from the Mediterranean such as lavender, cistus and germander add their resinous scent to the garden’s existing roses. Photo by Daniel Bosler.

This house is located in the Flying Horse community. With stunning mountain and golf course views, over 9,000 square feet of living space, and a striking stone, stucco and brick exterior, this property was in need of a grand entrance. Our ultimate goal was to marry the Tuscan style of the structure to the rolling foothills of Colorado.

Shade garden after design and installation. Client wanted color in the shade garden that her office and living room looked out onto. Hydrangeas were her favorite with Star Jasimine along the fence To ensure that the Hydrangeas would grow, the soil was changed to an acid-based shade mix.

A limestone retention wall discovered during relocation of existing plants along the driveway was filled with Sanguinaria (Commelinacea Rhoeo spathacea (Sw.) Stearn Sangría), a green-purple leafed plant that contrasts with the white limestone. Five trellises were placed at the top of the driveway and wove together three Italian Lace Cascade Climbing Roses –specially shipped from Florida for this garden – and two Panda, a variegated leaf climber.
