Le charme du Sud à Paris. Un projet de rénovation assez atypique...car il a été mené par des étudiants architectes ! Notre cliente, qui travaille dans la mode, avait beaucoup de goût et s’est fortement impliquée dans le projet. Un résultat chiadé au charme méditerranéen.

Hand-hewn wooden beams were crafted for the ceiling. A hood surround was built using custom colored Arto Clay tiles as accent. A piece of walnut was inserted into the solid surface island for warmth at the bar. Photography by Studio 101 West.

This beautiful Spanish/Mediterranean Modern kitchen features UltraCraft's Stickley door style in Rustic Alder with Natural finish and Lakeway door style in Maple with Blue Ash paint. A celebration of natural light and green plants, this kitchen has a warm feel that shouldn't be missed!

Valley View kitchen, complete with an abundant amount of space for cooking and entertaining. Cabinets are custom made with shaker style doors and drawers finished in Sherwin Williams "Greek Villa." Cabinet hardware throughout the kitchen are retro bin cups and knobs from Etsy in pewter. All appliances are stainless steel, Zephyr Siena 36" hood above the 36" induction range. Frigidaire Double Electric Wall Oven and side by side single door refrigerator and freezer, the dishwasher is panel ready and blends in with the rest of the cabinets. The raised bar at the peninsula (left) with a live edge walnut slab, also contains a Zephyr wine fridge delicately tucked below (bottom left) and a prep sink with a Brizo Litze Bar faucet. Lighting over the peninsula are teardrop pendants from Birch Lane. Floating shelves on the range wall are also live edge walnut slabs. Stainless steel counters and backsplash throughout, with a stainless steel single basin sink with Brizo Litze stainless steel faucet located in the island. The pot filler at the range is a Brizo Euro wall mount is also in stainless steel. A Knotty Alder 6-panel door, with frosted glass leads to the pantry, which contains another sink and ample storage for dry goods. Walls and ceilings in the kitchen are painted in Benjamin Moore's Dulce de Leche.

Down-to-studs remodel and second floor addition. The original house was a simple plain ranch house with a layout that didn’t function well for the family. We changed the house to a contemporary Mediterranean with an eclectic mix of details. Space was limited by City Planning requirements so an important aspect of the design was to optimize every bit of space, both inside and outside. The living space extends out to functional places in the back and front yards: a private shaded back yard and a sunny seating area in the front yard off the kitchen where neighbors can easily mingle with the family. A Japanese bath off the master bedroom upstairs overlooks a private roof deck which is screened from neighbors’ views by a trellis with plants growing from planter boxes and with lanterns hanging from a trellis above. What began as a small, extremely dated kitchen in this 1929 Spanish Casa with an even tinier nook that you could hardly eat in has turned into a gorgeous stunner full of life! We stayed true to the original style of the home and selected materials to complement and update its Spanish aesthetic. Luckily for us, our clients were on board with some color-loving ideas too! The peacock blue cabinets pair beautifully with the patterned tile and let those gorgeous accents shine! We kept the original copper hood and designed a functional kitchen with mixed metals, wire mesh cabinet detail, more counter space and room to entertain! Hidden stainless steel outlets were strategically placed in the counter top to avoid the picturesque view of the marble wall back splash.
