The more formal living room, known as the Southern gal's sitting room, is darling with its layers of color, velvet, brass and European pine. This corner of the French Retrohemian Chateau is approachable with a fun take on elegance. A baby grand piano sits in one corner for musical entertainment and family engagements. The blush pink ceiling and two french pocket doors enhance to the refined look.

This great room is filled with natural light all day long with windows all across the back from Western Window Systems. It is the perfect gathering place for cooking, dining or just relaxing. The Living Room is inspired by the Federal style. The elaborate plaster ceiling was designed by Tom Felton and fabricated by Foster Reeve's Studio. Coffers and ornament are derived from the classic details interpreted at the time of the early American colonies. The mantle was also designed by Tom to continue the theme of the room. the wonderful peach color on the walls compliments the painting, rug and fabrics. Chris Cooper photographer.

Woven grass shades in soft gray top the windows and doors. Luxurious mushroom colored upholstery with charcoal grays and mid-range blues adorn the sofa and chair with ottoman. Taupe and ocean greens also help to create a soft and peaceful ambience. A hand made cocktail table with two levels of glass keep the space open in order to enjoy the Chinese rug’s motif below. Located in one of the Ritz residential towers in Boston, the project was a complete renovation. The design and scope of work included the entire residence from marble flooring throughout, to movement of walls, new kitchen, bathrooms, all furnishings, lighting, closets, artwork and accessories. Smart home sound and wifi integration throughout including concealed electronic window treatments. The challenge for the final project design was multifaceted. First and foremost to maintain a light, sheer appearance in the main open areas, while having a considerable amount of seating for living, dining and entertaining purposes. All the while giving an inviting peaceful feel, and never interfering with the view which was of course the piece de resistance throughout. Bringing a unique, individual feeling to each of the private rooms to surprise and stimulate the eye while navigating through the residence was also a priority and great pleasure to work on, while incorporating small details within each room to bind the flow from area to area which would not be necessarily obvious to the eye, but palpable in our minds in a very suttle manner. The combination of luxurious textures throughout brought a third dimension into the environments, and one of the many aspects that made the project so exceptionally unique, and a true pleasure to have created.
