This homage to prairie style architecture located at The Rim Golf Club in Payson, Arizona was designed for owner/builder/landscaper Tom Beck. This home appears literally fastened to the site by way of both careful design as well as a lichen-loving organic material palatte. Forged from a weathering steel roof (aka Cor-Ten), hand-formed cedar beams, laser cut steel fasteners, and a rugged stacked stone veneer base, this home is the ideal northern Arizona getaway. Expansive covered terraces offer views of the Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish designed golf course, the largest stand of Ponderosa Pines in the US, as well as the majestic Mogollon Rim and Stewart Mountains, making this an ideal place to beat the heat of the Valley of the Sun. Our clients wanted the ultimate modern farmhouse custom dream home. They found property in the Santa Rosa Valley with an existing house on 3 ½ acres. They could envision a new home with a pool, a barn, and a place to raise horses. JRP and the clients went all in, sparing no expense. Thus, the old house was demolished and the couple’s dream home began to come to fruition. The result is a simple, contemporary layout with ample light thanks to the open floor plan. When it comes to a modern farmhouse aesthetic, it’s all about neutral hues, wood accents, and furniture with clean lines. Every room is thoughtfully crafted with its own personality. Yet still reflects a bit of that farmhouse charm. Their considerable-sized kitchen is a union of rustic warmth and industrial simplicity. The all-white shaker cabinetry and subway backsplash light up the room. All white everything complimented by warm wood flooring and matte black fixtures. The stunning custom Raw Urth reclaimed steel hood is also a star focal point in this gorgeous space. Not to mention the wet bar area with its unique open shelves above not one, but two integrated wine chillers. It’s also thoughtfully positioned next to the large pantry with a farmhouse style staple: a sliding barn door. The master bathroom is relaxation at its finest. Monochromatic colors and a pop of pattern on the floor lend a fashionable look to this private retreat. Matte black finishes stand out against a stark white backsplash, complement charcoal veins in the marble looking countertop, and is cohesive with the entire look. You might think that a 600sf apartment would feel cramped but this space proves that good design can alter perception. I made this space appear larger by using a coordinated palette and repeating materials like the pre-finished Oak floors and custom walnut cabinetry at windows and kitchen. The window cabinets hold a surprising amount of storage, hide the HVAC unit, and highlight expansive Southern-facing views. It also has a huge amount of closet space thanks to 5 closets including a new walk-in. Yet, the living space is large enough for a comfortable seating arrangement and dining for four. A new door-less partition provides an informal bedroom area as well as the perfect place to hang wall-mounted flat-screen tvs on both sides. Original artwork, a redesigned bathroom enlarged by annexing a hallway, and beautiful furnishings (new & vintage) help to create a comfortable, spacious home for a favorite client.

This clean contemporary home has neutral colors with some wood textures. The feature wall is a panel of light wood finish in horizontal layout, with hidden track light. TV console has a similar finish with white finish swing drawer doors. The side cabinetry, mounted on the wall has front white finish with light wood body frame. Living area has false ceiling with down lights & hidden track lights. Overall, walls are white with ceramic white flooring.

The dark, blue-grey walls and stylish complementing furniture is almost paradoxically lit up by the huge bey window, creating a cozy living room atmosphere which, when mixed with the wall-mounted neon sign and other decorative pieces comes off as edgy, without loosing it's previous appeal.
