A young family with children purchased a home on 2 acres that came with a large open detached garage. The space was a blank slate inside and the family decided to turn it into living quarters for guests! Our Plano, TX remodeling company was just the right fit to renovate this 1500 sf barn into a great living space. Sarah Harper of h Designs was chosen to draw out the details of this garage renovation. Appearing like a red barn on the outside, the inside was remodeled to include a home office, large living area with roll up garage door to the outside patio, 2 bedrooms, an eat in kitchen, and full bathroom. New large windows in every room and sliding glass doors bring the outside in. The versatile living room has a large area for seating, a staircase to walk in storage upstairs and doors that can be closed. renovation included stained concrete floors throughout the living and bedroom spaces. A large mud-room area with built-in hooks and shelves is the foyer to the home office. The kitchen is fully functional with Samsung range, full size refrigerator, pantry, countertop seating and room for a dining table. Custom cabinets from Latham Millwork are the perfect foundation for Cambria Quartz Weybourne countertops. The sage green accents give this space life and sliding glass doors allow for oodles of natural light. The full bath is decked out with a large shower and vanity and a smart toilet. Luxart fixtures and shower system give this bathroom an upgraded feel. Mosaic tile in grey gives the floor a neutral look. There’s a custom-built bunk room for the kids with 4 twin beds for sleepovers. And another bedroom large enough for a double bed and double closet storage. This custom remodel in Dallas, TX is just what our clients asked for.

Cet appartement se situe sur les deux derniers étages d’un ancien hôtel particulier avec des vues incroyables sur les toits et les monuments de Paris. C’est donc un duplex de 220 m2 avec un grand espace de réception décloisonné et plusieurs chambres et salles de bain. Les clients ayant beaucoup résidé à l’étranger souhaitaient s’installer définitivement dans ce bel appartement. Pour cela il fallait le refaire à leur goût en collant à leur style de vie. Les enfants de ce couple sont grands, ils commencent eux-même à avoir des enfants. Certains habitent à l’étranger et il était important qu’il y ait un espace pour recevoir enfants et petits enfants confortablement. Nous avons respecté le style et les contraintes du bâtiment. Les anciens propriétaires avaient créé des pièces consécutives dans l’espace vie/convivialité et les clients préféraient ouvrir au maximum. Nous avons refait de nombreux éléments dans les règles de l’art, et notamment les moulures en staff, les vitraux à l’ancienne, la cheminée du salon qui avait été détruite ainsi que les parquets en très mauvais état. Toutes les fenêtres de l’appartement ont été changées en respectant le style de l’existant. Cheminée entièrement refaite à l’ancienne, menuiserie sur mesure en mdf peint et en placage chêne naturel, électrification LED des menuiseries, volets intérieurs en bois à panneaux sur fenêtres gueule de loup à l’ancienne. Vitraux entièrement refaits, moulures staff reprises entièrement... Tout le soin a été apporté à cette belle rénovation pour un résultat optimal. For our client, who had previous experience working with architects, we enlarged, completely gutted and remodeled this Twin Peaks diamond in the rough. The top floor had a rear-sloping ceiling that cut off the amazing view, so our first task was to raise the roof so the great room had a uniformly high ceiling. Clerestory windows bring in light from all directions. In addition, we removed walls, combined rooms, and installed floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall sliding doors in sleek black aluminum at each floor to create generous rooms with expansive views. At the basement, we created a full-floor art studio flooded with light and with an en-suite bathroom for the artist-owner. New exterior decks, stairs and glass railings create outdoor living opportunities at three of the four levels. We designed modern open-riser stairs with glass railings to replace the existing cramped interior stairs. The kitchen features a 16 foot long island which also functions as a dining table. We designed a custom wall-to-wall bookcase in the family room as well as three sleek tiled fireplaces with integrated bookcases. The bathrooms are entirely new and feature floating vanities and a modern freestanding tub in the master. Clean detailing and luxurious, contemporary finishes complete the look.

The lower level contains the couple's wine cellar, as well as a fully equipped bar where they can savor wine tastings, cocktail parties and delicious meals while enjoying quality time with family and friends. The existing concrete floors were sprayed a rust color adored by the Lady of the House, and served as the color inspiration for the rust/orange swivel chairs in the TV viewing area. Two dramatic floor lamps flank a console table and divide the TV viewing zone from the nearby pool table. I can't wait to see my client again soon, not only to put the finishing touches on their home's transformation, but to break bread and share a cocktail, as we have become close during the past 21 months with our many flights to and from Chicago to Minneapolis.
