The homeowners came in looking for a piece of stone as an art piece for their entry way and they fell in love with the Alplinus granite. It is a really one of a kind because it is a granite with a quartz content that allows it to be back lit, which compliments this complete new build in a modern style. The interior decor is a perfect blend of mid-century modern and modern.

Custom-made joinery and media wall designed and fitted by us for a family in Harpenden after moving into this new home. Looking to make the most of the large living room area they wanted a place to relax as well as storage for a large book collection. A media wall was built to house a beautiful electric fireplace finished with alcove units and floating shelves with LED lighting features. All done with solid American white oak and spray finished doors on soft close blum hinges.

The original ceiling, comprised of exposed wood deck and beams, was revealed after being concealed by a flat ceiling for many years. The beams and decking were bead blasted and refinished (the original finish being damaged by multiple layers of paint); the intact ceiling of another nearby Evans' home was used to confirm the stain color and technique. This room is a lovely big space with great natural light. But with big spaces can come big problems! It can be very difficult to create a cosy atmosphere in spaces this expansive. However, designer Lucy cleverly brought in all the seating towards the middle of the room centred around a gorgeous vintage rug below a statement ceiling light. This made the seating area feel more intimate and avoided the family having to shout across the room at each other!

This quintessential Sonoma farmhouse is in a vineyard on a storied 4.5-acre property, with a stone barn that dates back to 1896. The site is less than a mile from the historic central plaza and remains a small working farm with orchards and an olive grove. The new residence is a modern reinterpretation of the farmhouse vernacular, open to its surroundings from all sides. Care was taken to site the house to capture both morning and afternoon light throughout the year and minimize disturbance to the established vineyard. In each room of this single-story home, French doors replace windows, which create breezeways through the house. An extensive wrap-around porch anchors the house to the land and frames views in all directions. Organic material choices further reinforce the connection between the home and its surroundings. A mix of wood clapboard and shingle, seamed metal roofing, and stone wall accents ensure the new structure harmonizes with the late 18th-century structures. Marble fireplace in living room. One of our requirement for the project was to conserve the architectural elements like the marble fireplace place, the Italian travertine floor tiles and the wooed beams cathedral ceiling. We also treated the walls with a limewash paint performed by an artist. The two sconces were added too. Client wanted to enhance the Mediterranean elements of the space.

Polished concrete floors and expansive floor to ceiling joinery frames the interior of this generous lounge room. The mud room off the entry can be seen in the distance, usually concealed behind sliding doors.
