This reconfiguration project was a classic case of rooms not fit for purpose, with the back door leading directly into a home-office (not very productive when the family are in and out), so we reconfigured the spaces and the office became a utility room. The area was kept tidy and clean with inbuilt cupboards, stacking the washer and tumble drier to save space. The Belfast sink was saved from the old utility room and complemented with beautiful Victorian-style mosaic flooring. Now the family can kick off their boots and hang up their coats at the back door without muddying the house up!

Having a place to hang your bag and slide off your shoes before entering the home is a smart idea! This custom designed laundry/mudroom/doggy den was recently completed for our client and features inset Shaker doors and drawer fronts and solid wood butcher block countertops fabricated in our shop! To say they love it, is an understatement!

What a joy to bring this exciting renovation to a loyal client: a family of 6 that has called this Highland Park house, “home” for over 25 years. This relationship began in 2017 when we designed their living room, girls’ bedrooms, powder room, and in-home office. We were thrilled when they entrusted us again with their kitchen, family room, dining room, and laundry area design. Their first floor became our JSDG playground… Our priority was to bring fresh, flowing energy to the family’s first floor. We started by removing partial walls to create a more open floor plan and transformed a once huge fireplace into a modern bar set up. We reconfigured a stunning, ventless fireplace and oriented it floor to ceiling tile in the family room. Our second priority was to create an outdoor space for safe socializing during the pandemic, as we executed this project during the thick of it. We designed the entire outdoor area with the utmost intention and consulted on the gorgeous outdoor paint selections. Stay tuned for photos of this outdoors space on the site soon! Overall, this project was a true labor of love. We are grateful to again bring beauty, flow and function to this beloved client’s warm home.

Our client asked for a built in dog bed and a large sink for washing the pup in the mudroom. In addition to the custom cabinetry, we fabricated the solid wood butcher block countertops and the custom designed doors to the hallway!

Rustic yet refined, this modern country retreat blends old and new in masterful ways, creating a fresh yet timeless experience. The structured, austere exterior gives way to an inviting interior. The palette of subdued greens, sunny yellows, and watery blues draws inspiration from nature. Whether in the upholstery or on the walls, trailing blooms lend a note of softness throughout. The dark teal kitchen receives an injection of light from a thoughtfully-appointed skylight; a dining room with vaulted ceilings and bead board walls add a rustic feel. The wall treatment continues through the main floor to the living room, highlighted by a large and inviting limestone fireplace that gives the relaxed room a note of grandeur. Turquoise subway tiles elevate the laundry room from utilitarian to charming. Flanked by large windows, the home is abound with natural vistas. Antlers, antique framed mirrors and plaid trim accentuates the high ceilings. Hand scraped wood flooring from Schotten & Hansen line the wide corridors and provide the ideal space for lounging.

The Meadow's Laundry Room is a functional and stylish space designed to make laundry tasks easier. It features a sleek white countertop that offers ample workspace for folding and sorting clothes. Dark wooden cabinets provide plenty of storage for laundry essentials and help keep the room organized. The white laundry machine blends seamlessly with the surroundings, while the gray flooring adds a touch of sophistication. White upper cabinets provide additional storage options, keeping supplies and detergents within easy reach. Gray tiles on the floor create a clean and modern look, while the white walls contribute to a bright and fresh atmosphere. The Meadow's Laundry Room is a practical and well-designed space that combines functionality with aesthetic appeal.

Stunning white and blue remodel - complete with arabesque backsplash behind the induction cooktop in the kitchen and laundry room, and textured backsplash running the full height of the wall behind the kitchen sink and coffee bar area. Beautiful Cambria quartz countertops in Portrush with a waterfall edge on the island. Island cabinets are a deep blue to match the veining in the countertops. Tons of storage, cabinets protected with drip trays and other custom features in the kitchen and laundry room. (Not pictured, but also part of this project: fireplace with built-ins, pantry storage shelving, and half bathroom.)
