HUGE transformation! The homes in this area quintessentially have smaller kitchens that dining rooms. In addition, there is no open floor concept so traffic flow is restricted. In this design, we choose to take over the dining room! The fortunate part is the sunroom on the backside of the home was conditioned as part of the home, so the furniture and space plan transformed this room into the "dining room". What a beautiful thing to have on the backside of the home where the view is great (future pictures to come!). The improvements and challenges were to remove the wall between the kitchen and the formal dining room (which was rarely used) and then extend the kitchen into that space. !! This is a great challenge because it changes the flow, original architectural patterns to the home! We (client included) the plan achieved just that with some sacrifices -- but honestly, with so many more rewards. Ranch Renovation - Laundry Room

Laundry room's are one of the most utilized spaces in the home so it's paramount that the design is not only functional but characteristic of the client. To continue with the rustic farmhouse aesthetic, we wanted to give our client the ability to walk into their laundry room and be happy about being in it. Custom laminate cabinetry in a sage colored green pairs with the green and white landscape scene wallpaper on the ceiling. To add more texture, white square porcelain tiles are on the sink wall, while small bead board painted green to match the cabinetry is on the other walls. The large sink provides ample space to wash almost anything and the brick flooring is a perfect touch of utilitarian that the client desired.

Every remodel comes with its new challenges and solutions. Our client built this home over 40 years ago and every inch of the home has some sentimental value. They had outgrown the original kitchen. It was too small, lacked counter space and storage, and desperately needed an updated look. The homeowners wanted to open up and enlarge the kitchen and let the light in to create a brighter and bigger space. Consider it done! We put in an expansive 14 ft. multifunctional island with a dining nook. We added on a large, walk-in pantry space that flows seamlessly from the kitchen. All appliances are new, built-in, and some cladded to match the custom glazed cabinetry. We even installed an automated attic door in the new Utility Room that operates with a remote. New windows were installed in the addition to let the natural light in and provide views to their gorgeous property.

APD was hired to update the primary bathroom and laundry room of this ranch style family home. Included was a request to add a powder bathroom where one previously did not exist to help ease the chaos for the young family. The design team took a little space here and a little space there, coming up with a reconfigured layout including an enlarged primary bathroom with large walk-in shower, a jewel box powder bath, and a refreshed laundry room including a dog bath for the family’s four legged member!

ランドリールームのメリット・収納アイデア

洗濯室のメリットは、生活用品を一か所にまとめて、それを扉で隠せること。洗濯前の汚れた衣類や各種洗剤や掃除用品など、なるべく人目に付かせたくないものを収納するのにぴったりです。洗濯機上には収納棚を付けて、洗濯洗剤や柔軟剤、洗濯ネットなどを置くスペースとして有効活用しましょう。このとき活躍するのはバスケット。洗濯用品、掃除道具など、種類ごとにかごに分けて収納すれば、見た目もきれいで使いやすさも抜群です。あと、おすすめなのはハンガーラック。洗濯物を干すときに一時的にかけたり、取り入れた洗濯物の一時保管場所としてなにかと便利です。アイロンをかける前のしわしわのシャツも、ここに吊るしておけば恥ずかしくありません。
