The home had gone through an extensive renovation several years earlier that added a master bedroom suite and updates to the front façade. The kitchen however was not part of that update and a prior 1990’s update had left much to be desired. The client is an avid cook, and it was just not very functional for the family. The original kitchen was very choppy and included a large eat in area that took up more than its fair share of the space. On the wish list was a place where the family could comfortably congregate, that was easy and to cook in, that feels lived in and in check with the rest of the home’s décor. They also wanted a space that was not cluttered and dark – a happy, light and airy room. A small powder room off the space also needed some attention so we set out to include that in the remodel as well. See that arch in the neighboring dining room? The homeowner really wanted to make the opening to the dining room an arch to match, so we incorporated that into the design. Another unfortunate eyesore was the state of the ceiling and soffits. Turns out it was just a series of shortcuts from the prior renovation, and we were surprised and delighted that we were easily able to flatten out almost the entire ceiling with a couple of little reworks. Other changes we made were to add new windows that were appropriate to the new design, which included moving the sink window over slightly to give the work zone more breathing room. We also adjusted the height of the windows in what was previously the eat-in area that were too low for a countertop to work. We tried to keep an old island in the plan since it was a well-loved vintage find, but the tradeoff for the function of the new island was not worth it in the end. We hope the old found a new home, perhaps as a potting table. This bought off plan 9 year old home lacked all personality for my clients, option A,B,C in these new developments end up needing a lot of personalisation. we removed the entire kitchen/dining area and flooring. It was far from desireable. Now with new warming underfloor heating throughout, bright and fresh new palette, bespoke built furniture and a totally NEW layout. This Home is more than they have ever wanted! its incredible and the space also feels so much larger due to the design planned and products used. Finished to an excellent standard with our trade team.

Contemporary kitchen and dining space with Nordic styling for a young family in Kensington. The kitchen is bespoke made and designed by the My-Studio team as part of our joinery offer.

Shaker style oak kitchen painted in Farrow & Ball Pavilion Gray with Bianco Venato engineered quartz worktop. The island has a built in exposed oak breakfast bar with beech stools. It also features under mounted Shaws double farmhouse style sink. The three Lightyears Caravaggio steel hanging pendant lights add a subtle touch of colour. Cole and Son Woods wallpaper beautifully compliments the kitchen with floating oak shelves, oak mantelpiece and colourful ceramics adding the finishing touches this stunning kitchen.

A bright and charming basement kitchen creates a coherent scheme with each colour complementing the next. A white Corian work top wraps around grey silk finished lacquered cupboard doors and draws. The look is complete with hexagonal terracotta floor tiles that bounce off the original brick work above the oven adding a traditional element.

Nestled away in the countryside, this dark green and oak Shaker kitchen features a subtly crafted beaded detail. Using oak drawers and antique brass hardware to complement the deep shade, with a natural granite worktop. With the existing brick wall tying the room together adding additional textures and a traditional feel.

A beautiful barn conversion that underwent a major renovation to be completed with a bespoke handmade kitchen. What we have here is our Classic In-Frame Shaker filling up one wall where the exposed beams are in prime position. This is where the storage is mainly and the sink area with some cooking appliances. The island is very large in size, an L-shape with plenty of storage, worktop space, a seating area, open shelves and a drinks area. A very multi-functional hub of the home perfect for all the family. We hand-painted the cabinets in F&B Down Pipe & F&B Shaded White for a stunning two-tone combination.
