Minimal, white shaker cabinets brighten the room and help to solidify that mid-century modern feel my clients were seeking. However, my clients’ personality and that of the space shines through in the subway tiles’ pop of color. OK – maybe it’s a little more than a pop of color, but it takes this kitchen to the next level. The shiny, blue tile is an unexpected move that completely transforms this space. Material choice in this project had more of a significance because the kitchen’s shape and size didn’t change and was still rather confined. Location: Bethesda, MD, USA We completely revamped the kitchen and breakfast areas and gave these spaces more natural light. They wanted a place that is both aesthetic and practical and we achieved this by having space for sitting in the breakfast space and the peninsulas on both sides of the kitchen, not to mention there is extra sitting space along the bay window with extra storage. The stove was converted to gas and a convection oven was added above the stove. To the left and right of the stove the cabinet doors slide out with customized space for mason jar storage.

This kitchen proves small East sac bungalows can have high function and all the storage of a larger kitchen. A large peninsula overlooks the dining and living room for an open concept. A lower countertop areas gives prep surface for baking and use of small appliances. Geometric hexite tiles by fireclay are finished with pale blue grout, which complements the upper cabinets. The same hexite pattern was recreated by a local artist on the refrigerator panes. A textured striped linen fabric by Ralph Lauren was selected for the interior clerestory windows of the wall cabinets.

This twin home was the perfect home for these empty nesters – retro-styled bathrooms, beautiful fireplace and built-ins, and a spectacular garden. The only thing the home was lacking was a functional kitchen space. The old kitchen had three entry points – one to the dining room, one to the back entry, and one to a hallway. The hallway entry was closed off to create a more functional galley style kitchen that isolated traffic running through and allowed for much more countertop and storage space. The clients wanted a transitional style that mimicked their design choices in the rest of the home. A medium wood stained base cabinet was chosen to warm up the space and create contrast against the soft white upper cabinets. The stove was given two resting points on each side, and a large pantry was added for easy-access storage. The original box window at the kitchen sink remains, but the same granite used for the countertops now sits on the sill of the window, as opposed to the old wood sill that showed all water stains and wears. The granite chosen (Nevaska Granite) is a wonderful color mixture of browns, greys, whites, steely blues and a hint of black. A travertine tile backsplash accents the warmth found in the wood tone of the base cabinets and countertops. Elegant lighting was installed as well as task lighting to compliment the bright, natural light in this kitchen. A flip-up work station will be added as another work point for the homeowners – likely to be used for their stand mixer while baking goodies with their grandkids. Wallpaper adds another layer of visual interest and texture. The end result is an elegant and timeless design that the homeowners will gladly use for years to come. Au pied du métro Saint-Placide, ce spacieux appartement haussmannien abrite un jeune couple qui aime les belles choses. J’ai choisi de garder les moulures et les principaux murs blancs, pour mettre des touches de bleu et de vert sapin, qui apporte de la profondeur à certains endroits de l’appartement. La cuisine ouverte sur le salon, en marbre de Carrare blanc, accueille un ilot qui permet de travailler, cuisiner tout en profitant de la lumière naturelle. Des touches de laiton viennent souligner quelques détails, et des meubles vintage apporter un côté stylisé, comme le buffet recyclé en meuble vasque dans la salle de bains au total look New-York rétro.

Removing a wall between a small kitchen and dining room allowed for a large kitchen renovation. The slate floor, mosaic tile, granite countertops and LED lighting all make this room glow. The new layout, including a peninsula and custom cabinets, increase the room’s functionality and use of space. The homeowner’s custom glass art chandelier and pendants were the inspiration for the color scheme.

This full remodel project featured a complete redo of the existing kitchen. This mud room was previously the very tiny and dysfunctional laundry room. Converting it over to a mud room focusing on their pets. Designed and Planned by J. Graham of Bancroft Blue Design, the entire layout of the space was thoughtfully executed with unique blending of details, a one of a kind Coffer ceiling accent piece with integrated lighting, and a ton of features within the cabinets.

In this kitchen, Waypoint Living Spaces Maple Spice 650F cabinets with flat black hardware pulls were installed. The countertop is Wilsonart Xcaret 3cm Quartz with double roundover edge and 4” backsplash at the mail center cabinets. The backsplash is Jeffrey Court Slate fire and ice brick Mosaic. A Moen Align Spring single handle pull down spring faucet in Spot Resist Stainless and 18” brushed nickel towel bars and Ledge stainless steel sink with bottom sink grid, roll out grid, and bamboo cutting board. The flooring is a mixture of Permastone 16”x16” Indian Slate, Canyon and Verde flooring.
