We worked with a world famous, vegan chef on this sustainable, open and bright kitchen. The space was separated into a cooking area which could be used as a movie set, and a separated clean up space. Durable, but attractive materials were used in this kitchen that opens up to a family room and edible garden.

This high-gloss lacquered Störmer, German kitchen, was designed using a horizontal handle-less aluminum gola profile for door and drawer openings. The main finished used in this kitchen is a white high gloss lacquer with matching laser edges, paired with a thermo-pine structured HPL laminate. Units consisted of: Blum Legrabox deep pan drawers, pan drawers with inner drawers, corner lemans, bi-fold wall units, open shelves, tall unit with inner pan drawers, tall glass unit with glass shelves, custom coffee niche with pull-out shelf and built-in drawer, built-in oven tall unit and built-in LED lighting throughout. Island features deep pan drawers and an open niche for microwave and small accessories storage. In addition, a unique a L-shape built-in table designed using live-edge solid walnut. The handle-less aluminum gola continues to wrap around the island to create continuous lines. Plinth LED lighting surrounds entire island.

This kitchen is a display for an Abt Appliance showroom and includes ten appliances and two hoods within a relatively small footprint. Custom Amish-made cabinets integrates all appliances into a warm and inviting living space. The cabinets were painted using an old-school brushing technique that softens the appearance of an all-white kitchen, and a combination of frameless and inset styles was called upon to give a vintage feel while maximizing space. 1″ thick doors and drawer heads were specified to give the cabinetry a deeply carved presence. Dark stained walnut was selected as an accent color in the open areas above the ovens and refrigerators and behind the curved mullion glass doors. Where possible, matching wood fronts were made to camouflage and conceal the dishwasher, warming drawer, and built-in refrigerator and freezer. The tile backsplash creates a cohesive look with three very distinct focal points. The field tile is consistent, but the areas behind the cooktop, range, and sink show a unique detail. The marble tile floor with a basket weave centerpiece ties the cabinetry and wall tile together. Countertops are cambria in Torquay color, which mimics the appearance of Carrara Marble but has the physical characteristics of quartz material. The edge was built up to 6 centimeters and features an edge detail designed to mirror the routing on the cabinet doors.

Rustic-Modern Finnish Kitchen Our client was inclined to transform this kitchen into a functional, Finnish inspired space. Finnish interior design can simply be described in 3 words: simplicity, innovation, and functionalism. Finnish design addresses the tough climate, unique nature, and limited sunlight, which inspired designers to create solutions, that would meet the everyday life challenges. The combination of the knotty, blue-gray alder base cabinets combined with the clean white wall cabinets reveal mixing these rustic Finnish touches with the modern. The leaded glass on the upper cabinetry was selected so our client can display their personal collection from Finland. Mixing black modern hardware and fixtures with the handmade, light, and bright backsplash tile make this kitchen a timeless show stopper. With plenty of the seating nearby, we opted to utilize the back of the island for storage. In addition, the two tall cabinets flanking the opening of the breakfast room feature additional pantry storage. An appliance garage to the left of the range features roll out shelves. The tall cabinets and wall cabinets feature simple white shaker doors while the base cabinets and island are Benjamin Moore “Hale Navy”. Hanstone Campina quartz countertops, walnut accents and gold hardware and lighting make for a stylish and up-to-date feeling space. The backsplash is a 5" Natural Stone hex. Faucet is a Litze by Brizo in Brilliant Luxe Gold. Hardware is It Pull from Atlas in Vintage Brass and Lighting was purchased by the owner from Schoolhouse Electric.
