The client reached out to us to create an open-concept space that extended from the kitchen to the dining area while adding a modern, classical elegance to the space. We removed the kitchen wall adjacent to the dining area to effectively capture views of the water. We then brought natural sunlight to all three sides by adding windows and skylights. Design elements include high-end finishes, painted and glazed wood cabinetry, wood-look porcelain tile floors, quartz stone counter-tops and stainless steel appliances. As a final touch, we introduced custom window seating for a bright and sunny breakfast nook.

En este nuevo proyecto el cliente ha elegido dos materiales bien diferenciados: Ak_04 en cristal blanco mate y Ak_05 en madera natural de roble. La frialdad del cristal contrasta con la calidez de la madera natural, creando una simbiosis perfecta de materia prima. Esta cocina es totalmente atemporal y moderna a la vez. La campana de techo no solo crea un ambiente más limpio y espacioso visualmente, también ayuda a que no entorpezca las espectaculares vistas que nos ofrece la ventana panorámica. Una completa cocina en un lugar privilegiado, sencilla pero a la vez elegante, muy práctica y con gran capacidad de almacenamiento.

Flavin Architects was chosen for the renovation due to their expertise with Mid-Century-Modern and specifically Henry Hoover renovations. Respect for the integrity of the original home while accommodating a modern family’s needs is key. I was asked to update and design a new kitchen for my New Jersey client who has a home in Boca Raton. The project involved expanding the existing ranch and design a contemporary white kitchen. Below are the results of incorporating not only fine Italian cabinetry from a local Boca showroom but also a juxtaposition of textures and colors. Selecting the CeasarStone blue agate made the difference of a spectacular kitchen creating an artistic approach for the 14 ft island. The blue agate is imbedded within the white quarts counter. The wall cabinetry is a plethora of storage and so interesting with it's Post & Lintel dark wood frame design that plays with contrasts/ Shapes and textures abound with each interesting aspect like the irregular shaped back splash indispersed with mother of pearl mosaics. the client wanted a one of a kind chandelier and we designed it for her incorporating good functional and LED ambient lighting.

Kitchen renovation were the client wanted to increase storage, countertop surface and create a better flow. We removed a partition wall to enlarge the kitchen and we incorporated all custom cabinetry, Silestone countertops and all new appliances. The black hood ties in the black accent cabinetry surrounding the kitchen.

There’s nothing quite like a cozy cottage to call home. Especially when you can get creative, renovating key spaces to balance modern convenience and vintage charm. We collaborated with the talented homeowners to bring their vision to life an the results speak for themselves. A gourmet kitchen fits seamlessly in the original home’s footprint and not one, but two thoughtfully re-designed bathrooms bring a slice of luxury and function to this sweet little home. The modern-meets-classic kitchen tiles started it all, setting the tone for the entire renovation. Gourmet appliances and custom cabinetry maximized function and storage and new lighting was a perfect finishing touch. We completely re-worked the home’s “master” bath (you should see the “before!”), adding a spacious frameless glass shower. In the basement, the new bathroom is every bit the retreat the homeowner dreamed of, with the freestanding composite tub, an enormous vanity and a hidden stackable washer and dryer. The decommissioned fireplace is oh-so decorative, showing off with new Ann Sacks marble mosaic tile. We were asked to help transform a cluttered, half-finished common area to an organized, multi-functional homework/play/lounge space for this family of six. They were so pleased with the desk setup for the kids, that we created a similar workspace for their office. In the midst of designing these living areas, they had a leak in their kitchen, so we jumped at the opportunity to give them a brand new one. This project was a true collaboration between owner and designer, as it was done completely remotely.
