CREATING CONTRASTS Marble checkerboard floor tiles and vintage Turkish rug add depth and warmth alongside reclaimed wood cabinetry and shelving. Veined quartz sink side worktops compliment the old science lab counter on the opposite side.

The pallet for this light and bright kitchen update was centered around the Berwyn design by Cambria. The Classic White finish on the cabinetry along with the Italino Classico antique mirror behind the mullions not only lightened up the space but makes it look and feel very sophisticated. This transitional kitchen turned out beautifully. From the stunning hunter green island cabinetry to the custom glass globe pendant lights, this kitchen was transformed completely into a bright, elegant, and functional space.

Blending the old with the new gives this space a timeless feel and adds character and soul.

The true success behind this kitchen is the design and the way each detail flows with another. There are five different finishes with five different materials, yet all these elements combine in such harmony that entering the room is like walking into a work of art. Design details were incorporated to bridge the gap between the traditional nature of the building with the more contemporary functionality of a working kitchen. The Sub Zero & Wolf appliances, whilst not only fabulous in purpose, look sensational. The Solid American black walnut worktops of the island remind you of the beautiful natural materials that play a big part in this kitchen. Mesh centrepieces to the shaker doors demonstrate the transition between classic and contemporary.

The rich Hague Blue color selected for the cabinetry is the perfect setting for the tile floor that was designed by the owners. Adding to the Parisian Bistro ambiance is the custom-built brass shelving display piece mounted on the hand-crafted, polished ceramic tile backsplash. No butler’s pantry would be complete without the SubZero Designer wine storage with refrigerator/freezer drawers. Simple white countertops create a clean line with the sink, while brass hardware completes the space.
