This couple's family roots are in Bavaria and so I wanted to capture some old world charm that relected their aesthetic. The especailly designed sloped vent hood is reminiscent of the curved chimney stacks and roof lines oftern found in that region. The beautiful blue and green granite countertop pick up a palette they like and often reminds them of ocean water. The range is flanked by spice cabinets that pull out for ease of access and the backsplash is a handmade tile which has an undulating surface.

This stunning and spacious kitchen is replete with unique hand-crafted features such as built-ins, a one-of-a-kind beverage station and custom moldings. The Shaker cabinetry with inset doors and beadboard accents provides an authentic farmhouse look and feel, while the gray, yellow and terracotta color scheme adds contrast and an element of colorful flair. The Butterfly Green granite countertops are offset by butcher block countertops, tying in with the other wood elements within the space. Stainless-steel lighting and appliances, a farmhouse sink, and pot filler are modern conveniences perfect for cooking and entertaining.

Opting to do the remodel themselves, the couple paired IKEA SEKTION cabinetry hardware with Mahogany Slab Cabinet Door/Drawer Fronts and Side Panels from Semihandmade and accented by IKEA BLANKETT aluminum handles. “The appeal for us with IKEA cabinetry was the modularity and cost. There’s so many combination options and we could install them ourselves,” she describes. They also chose IKEA’s FÖRBÄTTRA (now IRSTA) and STRÖMLINJE cabinet lighting system to highlight the IKEA NUTID slide-in range with gas cooktop and custom laminate countertops from Wilsonart, which feature a unique green color called Sprout. “We also did a white ceramic teardrop tile backsplash with silver sparkle grout,” she says.

Die Gestaltung folgt einer minimalistischen Ästhetik mit klaren Linien und einer ehrlichen Betonung funktionaler Details. Die Farbpalette im Inneren des Gebäudes ist ruhig und zurückhaltend gehalten. Sanfte Nuancen von Weiß schaffen eine subtile Atmosphäre, während gezielte Akzente aus Messing und geölter Eiche eine warme und organische Note hinzufügen. Diese Materialien fügen sich nahtlos in das Gesamtkonzept ein und betonen die sorgfältig ausgewählten Details. Besonderes Augenmerk wurde auf die Gestaltung des Kinderzimmers gelegt, die durch einen Treppenschrank mit einer integrierten Lerngalerie verbunden ist. Dieses durchdachte Element erweckt mit seiner hochwertigen Ausführung und schlichten Eleganz eine inspirierende Atmosphäre. Es schafft nicht nur einen praktischen Stauraum, sondern bietet gleichzeitig eine organisierte und ästhetisch ansprechende Umgebung für die junge Bewohnerin. Als Herzstück der Wohnung erstrahlt die offene Wohnküche, die durch eine Arbeitsplatte aus glasiertem Lavastein gekonnt in Szene gesetzt wird. Dieser Bereich fungiert als lebendiger Mittelpunkt des Wohnraums und lädt zu geselligen Zusammenkünften ein. Insgesamt verkörpert die Gestaltung der Wohnung einen zeitlosen Stil. Die geschickte Verbindung funktionaler Elemente mit einer ruhigen Formensprache schafft ein Wohnkonzept, das eine harmonische und moderne Erfahrung bietet.
