This elegant, classic painted kitchen was designed and made by Tim Wood to act as the hub of this busy family house in Kensington, London. The kitchen has many elements adding to its traditional charm, such as Shaker-style peg rails, an integrated larder unit, wall inset spice racks and a limestone floor. A richly toned iroko worktop adds warmth to the scheme, whilst honed Nero Impala granite upstands feature decorative edging and cabinet doors take on a classic style painted in Farrow & Ball's pale powder green. A decorative plasterer was even hired to install cornicing above the wall units to give the cabinetry an original feel. But despite its homely qualities, the kitchen is packed with top-spec appliances behind the cabinetry doors. There are two large fridge freezers featuring icemakers and motorised shelves that move up and down for improved access, in addition to a wine fridge with individually controlled zones for red and white wines. These are teamed with two super-quiet dishwashers that boast 30-minute quick washes, a 1000W microwave with grill, and a steam oven with various moisture settings. The steam oven provides a restaurant quality of food, as you can adjust moisture and temperature levels to achieve magnificent flavours whilst retaining most of the nutrients, including minerals and vitamins. The La Cornue oven, which is hand-made in Paris, is in brushed nickel, stainless steel and shiny black. It is one of the most amazing ovens you can buy and is used by many top Michelin rated chefs. It has domed cavity ovens for better baking results and makes a really impressive focal point too. Completing the line-up of modern technologies are a bespoke remote controlled extractor designed by Tim Wood with an external motor to minimise noise, a boiling and chilled water dispensing tap and industrial grade waste disposers on both sinks. Cette cuisine est une cuisine sans poignées, en stratifié blanc mat. Plans de travail en Granit Noir du Zimbabwe. Les niches ajourées ainsi que la table sont en bois massif chêne naturel pour apporter un peu de chaleur à l'association intemporelle blanc/noir. La crédence en verre miroir présente l'avantage de donner de la profondeur à la pièce et de mettre en avant la belle vue donnant sur la mer. Il est toujours agréable de voir la mer quand on fait sa vaisselle! Le petit coin suspendu, où l'on peut oser les petits appareils électroménagers, a été totalement créé à la place d'une porte. Le but était de dédier un coin pour les petits électroménagers sans encombrer ni l'îlot ni le linéaire technique avec l'évier.

Située en région parisienne, Du ciel et du bois est le projet d’une maison éco-durable de 340 m² en ossature bois pour une famille. Elle se présente comme une architecture contemporaine, avec des volumes simples qui s’intègrent dans l’environnement sans rechercher un mimétisme. La peau des façades est rythmée par la pose du bardage, une stratégie pour enquêter la relation entre intérieur et extérieur, plein et vide, lumière et ombre. - Photo: © David Boureau

Nouveau défi, nouveau projet : transformer un salon en cuisine. M.&Mme B souhaitaient réorganiser l’espace de vie du rez-de-chaussée tout en conservant l’esprit chaumière. Le salon devait donc déménager. Nous disposions d’un beau volume pour intégrer un maximum de rangements. Chaque élément a été disposé autour de l’imposant îlot central et son plan de travail stratifié décor ardoise. L’espace est lumineux, à la fois grâce à la lumière naturelle mais également grâce aux spots intégrés dans les meubles hauts. Une lumière qui se reflète aussi dans la crédence et la vitrine en verre. Et que dire de ce sublime luminaire au-dessus du bloc de cuisson ! L’association des teintes et des matières crée une belle harmonie dans cette nouvelle cuisine élégante et chaleureuse. #Beton meets #Wood Dieses Projekt zeigt wie gut Beton und #Holz zusammenpassen. Die dunklen Fronten wurden aus #Betonspachtel gefertigt, die hellen #Holzfronten aus #Altholz sonnenverbrannt. Der #Tresen besteht aus einer massiven #Eichen #Bohle, die #Arbeitsplatte wurde aus #Naturstein in der Farbe #Manhatten #Grey gefertigt. Neben den Küchengeräten, oben der neue #Dampfbackofen BS484112, unten der #Backofen BO481112 welche aus dem Hause Gaggenau stammen, wurde für den #Weinliebhaber noch ein separater #Weinkühler der Firma Miele in den Tresen integriert.
