Town House, Leipzig - Ein Stadthaus-Ersatzbau . Projekt. Diese Echtholz-Küche im offenen Design entstand in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Christiane Stolze Interior und der Tischler-Firma Röthig und Hampel. Ein absolutes Highlight bildet die Kücheninsel, deren Arbeitsplatte im exquisiten Portobello Stein-Stil von Cosentino gehalten ist. Diese Auswahl verleiht der Küche eine zeitlos elegante Note und gewährleistet eine pflegeleichte, strapazierfähige Oberfläche. Durch die offene Anordnung integriert sich die Küche nahtlos in den angrenzenden Ess- und Wohnbereich. Ein markantes Element dieses Raumes sind die bodentiefen Fenster, die den gesamten Raum umrahmen und eine perfekte Symbiose zwischen Innen- und Außenbereich schaffen. In dieser Küche verschmelzen Praktikabilität, ästhetisches Design und eine einladende Atmosphäre in perfekter Harmonie. Ein wahrhaftiges Herzstück für das Stadthaus. We turned this home's two-car garage into a Studio ADU in Van Nuys. The Studio ADU is fully equipped to live independently from the main house. The ADU has a kitchenette, living room space, closet, bedroom space, and a full bathroom. Upon demolition and framing, we reconfigured the garage to be the exact layout we planned for the open concept ADU. We installed brand new windows, drywall, floors, insulation, foundation, and electrical units. The kitchenette has to brand new appliances from the brand General Electric. The stovetop, refrigerator, and microwave have been installed seamlessly into the custom kitchen cabinets. The kitchen has a beautiful stone-polished countertop from the company, Ceasarstone, called Blizzard. The off-white color compliments the bright white oak tone of the floor and the off-white walls. The bathroom is covered with beautiful white marble accents including the vanity and the shower stall. The shower has a custom shower niche with white marble hexagon tiles that match the shower pan of the shower and shower bench. The shower has a large glass-higned door and glass enclosure. The single bowl vanity has a marble countertop that matches the marble tiles of the shower and a modern fixture that is above the square mirror. The studio ADU is perfect for a single person or even two. There is plenty of closet space and bedroom space to fit a queen or king-sized bed. It has a brand new ductless air conditioner that keeps the entire unit nice and cool.

From the architect's description: "This grand detached period property in Teddington suffered from a lack of connectivity with the rear garden as well as a cramped kitchen and poorly lit living spaces. Replacing the original modest gable end rear extension a collection of new intersecting volumes contain a generous open plan space accommodating a new kitchen, dining area and snug. The existing side return lean-to has also been replaced with a large utility space that boasts full height integrated storage and a new WC. Taking every opportunity to harness natural light from its east facing orientation an assortment of glazing features including a clearstory window, glazed kitchen splashback, glazed corner window and two roof lights have been carefully positioned to ensure every elevation of the new extension is suitably equipped to capture daylight. Careful detailing of the recycled bricks from the old extension with new European Larch cladding provide crisply defined apertures containing new expansive full height minimally-framed sliding doors opening up the rear elevation onto a new raised patio space."

In collaboration with Darcy Tsung Design, we took a small, cramped kitchen and created an open layout for entertaining. The owner is an accomplished chef who wanted a purpose-built kitchen to house all of her specialty items, including pullouts for a Kitchen Aid mixer, a coffee station, and cabinet inserts for knives, spices, and cutting boards. Our traditional, yet still up to date, design was influenced by the owner's antique heirloom dining table and chairs. We seamlessly incorporated that much beloved set of furniture, and gave a prominent place for the owner's colorful artwork.

Updated kitchen features split face limestone backsplash, stone/plaster hood, arched doorways, and exposed wood beams.
