An outdated 1920's kitchen in Bayside Queens was turned into a refreshed, classic and timeless space that utilized the very limited space to its maximum capacity. The cabinets were once outdated and a dark brown that made the space look even smaller. Now, they are a bright white, accompanied by white subway tile, a light quartzite countertop and brushed brass hardware throughout. What made all the difference was the use of the dark porcelain floors as a great contrast to all the white. We were also diligent to keep the hold extractor a clear glass and stainless steel.

Sand Dollar Painted Cabinets with Stunning Granite Counters give this space an updated look. A beaded recessed panel cabinet was selected using Homecrest Cabinetry. Subway Tile was installed though out the backsplash and surrounding walls.

Open galley kitchen that is perfect for entertaining. Co-ordinating layered light fixtures all have crystal aspects. The stone/glass mosaic tile backsplash gives the space a little glitter above and below the cabinets. Porcelain tile floor is elegant and rugged. This Award-winning kitchen proves vintage doesn't have to look old and tired. This previously dark kitchen was updated with white, gold, and wood in the historic district of Monte Vista. The challenge is making a new kitchen look and feel like it belongs in a charming older home. The highlight and starting point is the original hex tile flooring in white and gold. It was in excellent condition and merely needed a good cleaning. The addition of white calacatta marble, white subway tile, walnut wood counters, brass and gold accents keep the charm intact. Cabinet panels mimic original door panels found in other areas of the home. Custom coffee storage is a modern bonus! Sub-Zero Refrig, Rohl sink, brass woven wire grill.

This gray and white family kitchen has touches of gold and warm accents. The Diamond Cabinets that were purchased from Lowes are a warm grey and are accented with champagne gold Atlas cabinet hardware. The Taj Mahal quartzite countertops have a nice cream tone with veins of gold and gray. The mother or pearl diamond mosaic tile backsplash by Jeffery Court adds a little sparkle to the small kitchen layout. The island houses the glass cook top with a stainless steel hood above the island. The white appliances are not the typical thing you see in kitchens these days but works beautifully. The island was designed to feel like furniture in this compact, narrow space. 2 stools for enjoying a coffee while looking out the sink window. Upper cabinets and wall paint were done in a creamy white paint to lighten the space. Rustic wood cabinets create texture and a connection to nature. Craftsman hardware and a black hood modernize this bungalow while natural colored ceramics like the backsplash tile and pendant lights bring the boho vibe. Adornments are all plants in this Biophilic design.

Besides space constraints, there were budget concerns to consider in this NYC apartment kitchen renovation. Design choices were made throughout the rest of the apartment remodel to come in under budget, and of course, on time! We included absolutely everything to make this a dream kitchen from top of the line appliances from Bertazzoni, Liebherr and Miele to signature space saving touches and custom storage solutions nestled in bespoke contemporary shaker cabinets - - like a sink tilt out, garbage roll outs, and spice cabinets - - which make this space feel and function like a much bigger kitchen. We also know that a small space doesn't need to be short on style! We decided this kitchen deserved a custom crown. This is my signature design to incorporate the plaster cove crowns throughout the apartment, only in the millwork version. This contemporary take on a prewar crown was just what was needed! Finally, we needed some pizzazz and added the Firenzecolor Swahili silver architectural coated wall which is front and center from the outside looking in to the kitchen. We achieved our goal: to create an elegant, eye catching center of attention in this tiny kitchen. This small kitchen is now a contemporary pièce de résistance in a timeless prewar building and it's wonderful to know that in the process of creating a modern, warm urban dream kitchen for this lovely client, we also changed her life!
