An axis centered on the fireplace divides the Living Room from the Kitchen that opens to the Reading Room beyond. A dramatic ceiling of layered beams is revealed.

In the heart of a picturesque farmhouse in Oxford, this contemporary kitchen, blending modern functionality with rustic charm, was designed to address the client's need for a family space. This kitchen features the Audus 945 Easytouch and 961 Lacquered Laminate range, with a striking Graphite Black Ultra Matt finish. Creating a nice contrast to the dark cabinetry are the Pearl Concrete worktops supplied by Algarve Granite. The textured surface of the worktops adds depth and character while providing a durable and practical space for meal preparation. Equipped with top-of-the-line appliances from Siemens, Bora, and Caple, this kitchen adds efficiency to daily cooking activities. For washing and food preparation, two sinks are strategically placed — one on the kitchen counter and another on the centrally located island. The Blanco sink offers style and functionality, while the Quooker tap provides instant hot and cold water for convenience. Nestled within the island is an integrated drinks cooler to keep beverages chilled and easily accessible. A drinks station is also concealed within a large cabinet, adding to the kitchen's versatility and making it a space perfect for entertaining and hosting. @VonTobel designer Savanah Ruoff created this lofty, rustic, farmhouse kitchen using painted, shaker style Kraftmaid Vantage Lyndale cabinets in Dove White, a stainless steel farmhouse sink, & a concrete counter. This open plan kitchen / living / dining room features a large south facing window seat and cantilevered cast concrete central kitchen island. The bright splash of orange contrasts the black kitchen furniture.

The kitchen is small but mighty. Vaulting the ceilings added additional space for taller cabinets and additional storage. The reclaimed wood beams addd a rustic wow factor. Concrete look countertops, textured white brick style tile with dark grout and two tone cabinets round out the space.

Kitchen remodel designed + built by Meadowlark in Ann Arbor, MI. Paneled appliances, butcher block island, Thermador range, soapstone counters, white subway tile backsplash and walls.

In the kitchen, the island's stained cabinetry is topped with marble, while the painted perimeter cabinets have a soapstone countertop. "The contrast of the two is really pretty together, but it's also a good balance for functionality" Mona says, noting the marble requires more caution and care while the soapstone can stand up to pans straight from the oven. The home's only dining space is located between the kitchen and living room. The "Dream of the '90s" was alive in this industrial loft condo before Neil Kelly Portland Design Consultant Erika Altenhofen got her hands on it. The 1910 brick and timber building was converted to condominiums in 1996. No new roof penetrations could be made, so we were tasked with creating a new kitchen in the existing footprint. Erika's design and material selections embrace and enhance the historic architecture, bringing in a warmth that is rare in industrial spaces like these. Among her favorite elements are the beautiful black soapstone counter tops, the RH medieval chandelier, concrete apron-front sink, and Pratt & Larson tile backsplash
