Galley kitchen layout with stainless steel countertop put over walnut wood kitchen cabinets to keep the denting and dinging effect to a minimum. The cabinetry is made of polished walnut wool material to bring the warmth and durability to complete the transitional style.

Our Armadale residence was a converted warehouse style home for a young adventurous family with a love of colour, travel, fashion and fun. With a brief of “artsy”, “cosmopolitan” and “colourful”, we created a bright modern home as the backdrop for our Client’s unique style and personality to shine. This rare 1950’s glass-fronted townhouse on Manhattan’s Upper East Side underwent a modern renovation to create plentiful space for a family. An additional floor was added to the two-story building, extending the façade vertically while respecting the vocabulary of the original structure. A large, open living area on the first floor leads through to a kitchen overlooking the rear garden. Cantilevered stairs lead to the master bedroom and two children’s rooms on the second floor and continue to a media room and offices above. A large skylight floods the atrium with daylight, illuminating the main level through translucent glass-block floors.

1950's-inspired galley kitchen. The black and white hex tiles and dual pendant lamps are a nod to both the Victorian pedigree of the house, and the owner's affinity for mid-century modern design motifs. The blue lacquered cabinets and lemon-lime back splash tile were chosen to be able to reflect light from windows in the room in front of the space, brightening the windowless space. A kitchen that moves to the beat, recreating the thrills of a Highway 66 lifestyle: for fans of roaring Harleys, roadhouse concerts, and the rich, velvety sound of electric guitars. Ample, well-designed spaces where every piece of decor follows a very specific scheme, careful to keep the tempo of the stylistic cues that make this kitchen so evocative and unique. Rock’n Roll is inspired by the legends of the past, with pieces that would be right at home on stage, rocking and rolling up their sleeves to help tackle the everyday challenges of life.

This residence is situated on a flat site with views north and west to the mountain range. The opposing roof forms open the primary living spaces on the ground floor to these views, while the upper floor captures the sun and view to the south. The integrity of these two forms are emphasized by a linear skylight at their meeting point. The sequence of entry to the house begins at the south of the property adjacent to a vast conservation easement, and is fortified by a wall that defines a path of movement and connects the interior spaces to the outdoors.
