The existing 90 square foot galley kitchen was small and narrow, with limited storage and counterspace. By utilizing the hallway and master closet opposite, we expanded the kitchen across the hall, creating a 5’-6”x 2’-0”x 7’-0” niche for the Subzero refrigerator and under counter wine storage unit. The existing kitchen doorway was widened to unify the two spaces. Separating the tall elements from the original galley, the new design was able to provide uninterrupted counterspace and extra storage. Because of its proximity to the living area, the niche is also able to serve a dual role as an easily accessible bar with glass storage above when the client is entertaining. Modern, high-gloss cabinetry was extended to the ceiling, replacing the existing traditional millwork and capitalizing on previously unused space. An existing breakfast nook with a view of the East River, which had been one of the client’s favorite features, was awkwardly placed and provided for tight and uncomfortable seating. We rebuilt the banquettes, pushing them back for easier access and incorporating hidden storage compartments into the seats.

The details are so important: this custom-cut quartzite countertop flows with the build lines of the dark undermount sink. The gooseneck faucet was chosen to echo the industrial brown of the beams and the pendant lights. These "little things" are the big things! And this extensive suburban reno was much more than the kitchen and its fabulous iron beam & shelving. My team took a fresh approach to traditional style in this home. Inspired by fresh cut blossoms and a crisp palette, we transformed the space with airy elegance. Exquisite natural stones and antique silhouettes coupled with chalky white hues created an understated elegance as romantic as a love poem.

This remodel of a mid century gem is located in the town of Lincoln, MA a hot bed of modernist homes inspired by Gropius’ own house built nearby in the 1940’s. By the time the house was built, modernism had evolved from the Gropius era, to incorporate the rural vibe of Lincoln with spectacular exposed wooden beams and deep overhangs. The design rejects the traditional New England house with its enclosing wall and inward posture. The Arke range from Pedini has been used here to stunning effect. The clean lines achieved by the handleless cabinets ensures the design is kept uncluttered and hides a multitude of storage options to ensure that the kitchen is as practical as it is beautiful. Our clients knew that they wanted a matt navy blue kitchen, in fact, they knew the exact shade of blue they wanted. By using Pedini's colour match service our client was able to choose this colour from 213 RAL classic colours to achieve a truly individual kitchen. Continuing with the custom-made design the kitchen features open shelving of various sizes to house the customers objet d'art collected from travels all over the world. The wood used for the shelving has been cleverly matched with the floor for a seamless style.

The steps leading to the kitchen from the side door were reoriented and turned in the opposite direction. This change created an opportunity for a large walk in pantry and helped to better define the flow through the space. The clean-up area is located in a more private area of the space so that dirty dishes following a party could be stacked out of sight. Slab wood veneer doors in a textured gloss finish are framed by pilasters forming a cohesive furniture concept throughout the design. White countertops receive waterfall sides in strategic locations and are complimented by white porcelain tile backsplash with a modern wavy texture. Ilir Rizaj

Design, plan, supply and install new kitchen. Works included taking the the room back to a complete shell condition. The original Edwardian structural timbers were treated for woodworm, acoustic insulation installed within the ceiling void, wall to the garden lined with thermal insulation. Radiator and position changed. The original internal hinged door was converted to a sliding pocket door to save space and improve access. All the original boiler pipework was exposed and interfered with the work surfaces, this has all been reconfigured and concealed to allow unhindered, clean lines around the work top area, The room is long and narrow and the new wood plank flooring has been laid diagonally to visually widen the room. Walls are painted in a two tone yellow which contrasts with the grey cabinetry, white worksurfaces and woodwork. The Strada handleless cabinets are finished in matte dust grey and finished with a white quartz work surface and upstand New celing, display and undercabinet and plinth lighting complete this bright, very functional and revived room.
