Sustainable SedonaKitchen and Floor Design - The durable honed slate floor at the high traffic kitchen and entry is transitioned to wood in the dining and living areas. Photos by Sustainable Sedona
GMI Design GroupThis 1950's home was chopped up with the segmented rooms of the period. The front of the house had two living spaces, separated by a wall with a door opening, and the long-skinny hearth area was difficult to arrange. The kitchen had been remodeled at some point, but was still dated. The homeowners wanted more space, more light, and more MODERN. So we delivered.
We knocked out the walls and added a beam to open up the three spaces. Luxury vinyl tile in a warm, matte black set the base for the space, with light grey walls and a mid-grey ceiling. The fireplace was totally revamped and clad in cut-face black stone.
Cabinetry and built-ins in clear-coated maple add the mid-century vibe, as does the furnishings. And the geometric backsplash was the starting inspiration for everything.

Design Kitchens & CountertopsThis kitchen features beautiful Drizzle Kitchen Craft Cabinetry, with a custom Blue (North Sea) Island. The Double Mired Olympia Granite is the show stopper here! Not to be outdone, the tri-toned triangular backsplash adds the perfect amount of interest without getting busy. Stainless Steel Kitchen Aid Appliances finish off this modern townhouse, making the space both stylish and functional.

Vicki Simon Interior DesignBuilder installed kitchen in 2002 was stripped of inappropriate trim and therefore original ceiling was revealed. New stainless steel backsplash and hood and vent wrap was designed. Shaker style cabinets had their insets filled in so that era appropriate flat front cabinets were the finished look.
Roma StoneBrown Fantasy granite provides a unique luxurious feel with every installation. By contrasting the white cabinets + backsplash with the dark waves it adds the completing touch to the kitchen.

UserA modern look was wanted to renovate their kitchen on a budget.
We installed granite Tile countertops with an edge profile. And then topped the wall backsplash with some stacked slate.
The existing cabinets were left in and the doors got sanded and refinished and new knob hardware was added. Recessed lighting was installed underneath the wall cabinetry.

Outsider InteriorThe ample kitchen overlooks the canyon setting and offers an inspiring place to cook and mingle with friends. Slate floors, a mix of honed and polished black granite, black and white marble, and burl wood cabinetry lend a comforting warmth to the modern esthetic and create an echo of the natural surrounding beauty.
Tracy A. Stone ArchitectThis kitchen remodel involved the demolition of several intervening rooms to create a large kitchen/family room that now connects directly to the backyard and the pool area. The new raised roof and clerestory help to bring light into the heart of the house and provides views to the surrounding treetops. The kitchen cabinets are by Italian manufacturer Scavolini. The floor is slate, the countertops are granite, and the ceiling is bamboo.
