The ample kitchen overlooks the canyon setting and offers an inspiring place to cook and mingle with friends. Slate floors, a mix of honed and polished black granite, black and white marble, and burl wood cabinetry lend a comforting warmth to the modern esthetic and create an echo of the natural surrounding beauty.

This modern Honolulu kitchen was part of a full home remodel in a home situated above the city in the hills. What used to be an 80's / 90's dark dining room became transformed into a beautifully elevated and uplifting modern kitchen. Ethereal feels and vibes are this designer's inspiration choice. The goal is to make one feel uplifted, optimistic, energized and inspired in their home. The countertop is Dekton Opera, the upper cabinets are - wait for it... IKEA! - and the lower cabinets are custom work by @burlandbarrel. The inlaid "wood-look" ceiling is using paneling, (think, floor on the ceiling), and the underside of the cabinets are custom wood pieces to make the lighting lay flush.

The front of the raised 42" high eating area of the 9'-0" island has additional storage cabinetry and is topped with a 5" thick mitered edge slab of granite. Wall came down to create an open flow to the kitchen and adjoining seating area. A total gut remodel was done to the kitchen; redesigned layout, new cabinetry, appliances, counter tops, plumbing fixtures, flooring, super thick granite island counter tops at two levels and a show stopping LED linear light fixture.

In this beautifully crafted home, the living spaces blend contemporary aesthetics with comfort, creating an environment of relaxed luxury. The serene backdrop of the ocean sets a tranquil scene, while the modern fireplace encased in elegant marble provides a sophisticated focal point. The kitchen is a chef's delight with its state-of-the-art appliances and an expansive island that doubles as a breakfast bar and a prepping station. This small house needed a makeover to be suitable for a family of four, therefore the original layout has been changed in such way that the hall entrance and kitchen are fully optimized spaces. We opted for a glass brick wall to let the light flow between the entrance and kitchen and maximize perception of space, on both sides. All furniture in the hall area and in the kitchen goes up to the ceiling in order to create extra storage space, whilst in the living room there is large storage space under the stairs, without taking any space from the room. What is left in sight is light, airy furniture in white and woody textures and a touch of green moss used as decoration.
