An amazing social space incorporating the kitchen, an island to seat 6, a liquid metal bar, wine storage and a 10 person dining table. All the furniture was over-sized to suit the scale of the room and the 3 metre high ceilings.

The cozy ambiance of this cottage kitchen is achieved through the use of rift-cut white oak cabinetry, complemented by warm white accents and a luxurious navy-blue panelled island. Additionally, the pendant lighting above the curved island and open shelving provides the finishing touches to this extravagant kitchen.

External Mondrian door was manufactured using low iron toughened glass, this was installed to the property and finished in a black finish to accentuate the dark tones with the interior.

The Brief The first time we visited this Ovingdean property was around 15 years ago, when we installed a traditional style kitchen for these clients. The brief for their second kitchen installation with us, was completely different, swapping a traditional style for a clean and modern aesthetic. The requirement for this project sought a clever design incorporating social seating options, as well as including organised storage and a space designated to a fantastic drinks collection. Design Elements The layout of this kitchen makes the most of the space, with a large island the focal point of the main kitchen area. To include the designated storage for food and drinks, designer Aron has placed fitted pantries either side of a chimney breast, each with built-in storage for organisation. The theme is a nod to the coastal location of this property, with a popular azure blue finish combined with gloss white cabinetry used for wall units and the island. The furniture used in this kitchen is from British supplier Trend, with the flat-slab profile door deployed across all cabinetry. To soften edges around the island space curved units have been utilised alongside blanco maple quartz work surfaces from supplier Silestone. Special Inclusions High-specification cooking appliances have been included in this project, with a custom combination of Neff products incorporated to suit the needs of this client. A Neff slide & hide oven, combination oven and warming drawer are grouped within furniture, with full-height Neff fridge and freezer located either side of the appliances. On the opposing side of the kitchen area, a Neff flexInduction hob has been incorporated with an in-built extractor integrated above. Where possible appliances have been integrated behind furniture to not interrupt the theme of this space, with an integrated washing machine and dishwasher located within base units. Project Highlight The designated storage in the dining area is an enviable highlight of this space. One is allocated to ambient foods, with the other used to house in impressive drinks collection, which teams perfectly with a built-in 60cm wine cabinet in the kitchen area. Both boast premium oak internals to help with organisation. The End Result The result of this project is a kitchen that utilises a lovely coastal theme, delivering on the modern brief required. The use of pantry storage for food and drink also leaves a wonderfully organised lasting impression. This project was to update a current kitchen space. Adding breakfast pantry into an understairs area, and creating a separate dining and seating space that was more in line with clients prefered layout. This was previously a long, awkward kitchen with a long walk between sink, hob and fridge, so had significant saftey failings.

This earthy cottage kitchen boasts a stunning rift-cut white oak dining hutch, showcasing the linear grain pattern that characterizes this type of oak. The hutch's beauty is further enhanced by the rift-cut white oak wall paneling that surrounds it. With its glass doors, the upper cabinetry not only adds a touch of elegance to the space, but also provides the perfect setting to display your fine china and glassware with grace and beauty.

Light British Kitchen in Horsham, West Sussex Designer George has made the most of a newly created kitchen and dining space in this Horsham property, with a light and bright kitchen theme, fitted with high-end amenities. The design and installation work for this project has been organised in harmony with building work, shaping the space for the wonderful kitchen and dining area it now houses. The building work sought to increase the natural light into the area of this property, with the Cashmere coloured kitchen a perfect addition to maintain light throughout the area. The layout of the kitchen has been designed to make the room feel spacious, utilising a galley style with plenty of space in-between runs, plus a full-height bank of units bearing appliances and further storage towards the rear. Kitchen Furniture To match the feel of the space, furniture with subtle impact has been used. Cabinetry and units for this project are from British supplier Trend Interiors’ ‘Slab’ collection, which with a Cashmere painted finish, provides the minimalist texture perfectly suited for this project. The placement of the furniture has been designed with the convenience of the client in mind. A run of units is dedicated to cooking, with appliances and plentiful pan storage close to each other for functional ease. A second run contains cleaning facilities and general storage in addition to a custom laundry area integrated behind view. A large bank of units at the end of the kitchen is home to more appliances and extra storage. Kitchen Appliances To add important function to the space, a high specification of appliances have been included. Neff cooking appliances offer extreme durability, with the models opted for including additional features like pyrolytic cleaning and flexInduction. This client’s own American style fridge freezer is situated next to a CDA wine cabinet, which provides precise temperature control for up to twenty-four wine bottles and is seamlessly built-into furniture. A Quooker boiling tap replaces a conventional kettle in this kitchen, with cold, hot, and one-hundred degree boiling water available from the single chrome faucet. Kitchen Accessories Caesarstone quartz work surfaces are used throughout the kitchen, chosen in the neutral Ocean Foam finish, which bring incredible durability and a gleaming sparkle to the space. Splashbacks have also been opted for beneath wall units, with mid-grey coloured glass used on one side and a tile effect motif used on the other. Both adding ambience as well as easy cleaning properties. Durability is also a huge strength of the Blanco Silgranite sink, composed of granite and highly resistant to scratches, this has been selected in a mid-grey colour, which nicely fits in with the surroundings in this kitchen. Undercabinet spot-lighting features for a ambience as well as increased visibility when using the kitchen.
