Kitchen Design ConceptsIn our world of kitchen design, it’s lovely to see all the varieties of styles come to life. From traditional to modern, and everything in between, we love to design a broad spectrum. Here, we present a two-tone modern kitchen that has used materials in a fresh and eye-catching way. With a mix of finishes, it blends perfectly together to create a space that flows and is the pulsating heart of the home.
With the main cooking island and gorgeous prep wall, the cook has plenty of space to work. The second island is perfect for seating – the three materials interacting seamlessly, we have the main white material covering the cabinets, a short grey table for the kids, and a taller walnut top for adults to sit and stand while sipping some wine! I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend time in this kitchen?!
Cabinetry
With a tuxedo trend look, we used Cabico Elmwood New Haven door style, walnut vertical grain in a natural matte finish. The white cabinets over the sink are the Ventura MDF door in a White Diamond Gloss finish.
Countertops
The white counters on the perimeter and on both islands are from Caesarstone in a Frosty Carrina finish, and the added bar on the second countertop is a custom walnut top (made by the homeowner!) with a shorter seated table made from Caesarstone’s Raw Concrete.
Backsplash
The stone is from Marble Systems from the Mod Glam Collection, Blocks – Glacier honed, in Snow White polished finish, and added Brass.
Fixtures
A Blanco Precis Silgranit Cascade Super Single Bowl Kitchen Sink in White works perfect with the counters. A Waterstone transitional pulldown faucet in New Bronze is complemented by matching water dispenser, soap dispenser, and air switch. The cabinet hardware is from Emtek – their Trinity pulls in brass.
Appliances
The cooktop, oven, steam oven and dishwasher are all from Miele. The dishwashers are paneled with cabinetry material (left/right of the sink) and integrate seamlessly Refrigerator and Freezer columns are from SubZero and we kept the stainless look to break up the walnut some. The microwave is a counter sitting Panasonic with a custom wood trim (made by Cabico) and the vent hood is from Zephyr.
CDH Designs LLCAfter going through the tragedy of losing their home to a fire, Cherie Miller of CDH Designs and her family were having a difficult time finding a home they liked on a large enough lot. They found a builder that would work with their needs and incredibly small budget, even allowing them to do much of the work themselves. Cherie not only designed the entire home from the ground up, but she and her husband also acted as Project Managers. They custom designed everything from the layout of the interior - including the laundry room, kitchen and bathrooms; to the exterior. There's nothing in this home that wasn't specified by them.

Miro Kitchen Design This kitchen was designed utilizing the length and height of the space. While maintaining a truly functional working area. The emphases on a family kitchen as well as an entertainment area were achieved by keeping the functional components of the kitchen on one side while being able to socialize at an arms-length on the other. No one was to be made to feel left-out, with the island that eventual becomes a projected table to the workstation. Stainless steel was chosen to emphasize the gorgeousness and caliber of the appliances. Custom walnut cabinets accompanied by large format porcelain tile, and quartz counter-tops tie the space together. Hardware placement again reinforces clean lines of the kitchen.

Pear Tree Cabinets & DesignWarm and inviting pairing of Walnut and textured melamine. Very laid back and informal. The mixture of colors and textures lends to a very comfortable environment. Large open floor plan allows for company and hosts to navigate around the area with out being on top of each other. But still small enough to be part of any conversation in the room. Quartz counter tops that look like real marble really helps ground the room.

Nip Tuck RemodelingOur homeowners desired a space where friends and family could gather and create fabulous meals together.
The kitchen was completely moved around to the other side of the room, creating more flow and function of the space.
And what was once a pass thru window is now an opening doorway into the dining room.

Aleto Construction GroupAfter building a home in North Carolina and using their smaller St. Louis Home when they were in town our clients decided to move to St. Louis permanently and contacted us to completely gut their existing non-functional kitchen into something that works for their storage and cooking needs. Functionality was top of mind as both homeowners are exquisite chefs. They needed room to store all their cooking essentials in easy to access locations, they wanted to open the kitchen up by removing a peninsula that shrunk the room and left space for only one cook at a time. They also wanted to brighten and lighten the finishes. The kitchen felt heavy with black countertops, dark floors and lighting that was subpar. We completely gutted the kitchen by moving the location of the sink and dishwasher from the peninsula, putting cabinetry along the two main walls in the kitchen. Cabinets were replaced with thoughtfully planned out drawers for easy access and convenient pantry cabinets with pull out shelves. The cabinets were taken to the ceiling to take advantage of extra space for storage as well as making the room feel taller. White countertops and well-placed lighting throughout the kitchen and under the cabinets brighten the room while the green handmade tiles bring dimension and interest that compliment the earth tones of the cabinetry.
