Project 3362-1 NE Minneapolis Traditional Kitchen Refresh - Castle Building & Remodeling, Inc. Twin Cities MN 55418 This project was a unique kitchen refresh project. The original Northeast Minneapolis home was built in 1920, and sometime in the 90’s an addition with a remodeled kitchen was completed. While the current homeowners appreciated the size and general layout of the kitchen, they wanted a more open floor plan to the dining room and to add some additional storage within the existing kitchen space. The kitchen layout is dynamic, following the 45° angles of the walls and echoing them in the peninsula table. The cabinets are by Canyon Creek. They are partial overlay (AKA traditional overlay) in beech wood. The door style is a modified Shaker profile called "Legend" and is stained "Sea Drift." You can see the wood grain just a little, but Sea Drift is an opaque stain.

Notice the shelf fronts in the wine chiller are stained to match the surrounding cabinetry. This is a detail some people miss, and if you have a wine chiller with a glass door, you should at least know that staining the visible shelf fronts to match the surrounding cabinetry is an option.

White and Blue back splash tile blend well with the counter top and Blue Walls. Kept the existing floor on this one. Farmhouse sink, pendent lights above raised bar, and What Knot corner shelf are unique design features in this kitchen.
