This shaker style kitchen has been built in a large open plan space and benefits from lots of storage. This includes beautifully handcrafted solid cherry spice and bottle racks and drawers to keep dry goods like flour, pasta, rice, cereals, jars, tins and the likes. There is a built in bin area for regular waste and recycling. Useful large and small pan drawers to keep these items neat as well as handy drawers for larger utensils and cutlery. The cupboards around the outside are painted in Little Greene Paint Co ‘French Grey Mid’, with the kitchen island painted in Farrow & Ball ‘Railings’. The handles are from English Foundry – Armac Martin in Birmingham and are solid brass powder coated to a satin nickel finish. Included are Neff appliances, a Villeroy & Boch double farmhouse sink and tap by Perrin & Rowe in pewter finish (brushed nickel). The stone worktop is ‘Angelo White’ by Silkstone which is an excellent copy of carrara marble but a lot more hard wearing. This is a very exciting project, in which Luxmoore & Co are proud to work with the Developers who have turned out the rest of the barn to a superior finish also

Featured by House & Home - this modern kitchen has grey flat panel kitchen cabinets, black appliances, a dark wall and two kitchen islands. We chose to create a butcher block waterfall feature and a second island with a concrete Caesarstone quartz slab. The backsplash was comprised of two jumbo Cambria carrara slabs. Ultramodern German Kitchen in Worthing, West Sussex This German kitchen project in Worthing required extensive structural works to divide two rooms and create an open-plan space. Designer Phil has created an ultramodern handleless kitchen space, complete with high-tech appliances and TV area. The Brief A spacious and vast open-plan kitchen was the end goal of this project, which was not an easy task considering the space was originally two rooms. Advanced structural works were required to support the rest of the property, with flooring, lighting and an exterior bi-fold door also part of the plans. Designer Phil was tasked with envisaging a design which incorporated all this client’s requirements, whilst implementing a homely and modern kitchen theme. Design Elements Before fitting the kitchen, our structural team had to undertake significant works. Following the removal of a dividing wall, four steels had to be fixed in a square formation to support the property, this left a huge space for the kitchen Phil had designed for this client. A homely, yet modern theme was preferred with a combination of Stone Grey and Slate grey matt units opted for. These two finishes are complimented by Havana oak wood accents and the handless design of the kitchen. To meet the client’s requirements, an island, TV area and full-height corner storage feature, in addition to a wall-to-wall run which houses kitchen appliances and storage. Special Inclusions Special inclusions are aplenty in this kitchen. A grid of appliances is comprised of a Neff slide & hide oven, combination oven, warming drawer, coffee centre and Caple wine cabinet. Each provide an array of useful functions for this client, and elsewhere are accompanied by a Neff induction hob, Neff telescopic extractor hood and a Quooker 100°C boiling water tap. Designer Phil has incorporated numerous design features like a glass-ended unit on the island, cookbook storage space, feature shelving in the TV area and a raised natural wood work surface on the island. Our structural team were also tasked with widening an exterior doorway and fitting bi-fold doors which look out to the vibrant garden. Project Highlight The TV area is a lovely highlight of this project. Phil has framed this with additional storage and decorative wood effect shelving. Nearby a full-height radiator and full-height storage provide warmth and even more storage to the kitchen space. The End Result The end result is a space that is unrecognisable and has been completely transformed with the expertise of our fitting team. In addition to the structural works, Karndean flooring, lighting and heating improvements have been made involving almost every facet of our installation team. The kitchen and TV room across the back of the property were combined to make one open plan living space. It now contains a large kitchen, dining and sitting area. The space is south east facing and get a lot of direct sunlight from mid afternoon.

This lovely kitchen-diner and utility started life as a collection of much smaller rooms. Our clients wanted to create a large and airy kitchen-dining room across the rear of the house. They were keen for it to make better use of the space and take advantage of the aspect to the garden. We knocked the various rooms through to create one much larger kitchen space with a flow through utility area adjoining it. The Kitchen Ingredients Bespoke designed, the kitchen-diner combines a number of sustainable elements. Not only solid and built to last, the design is highly functional as well. The kitchen cabinet bases are made from high-recycled content MFC, these cabinets are super sustainable. They are glued and dowelled, and then set rigidly square in a press. Starting off square, in a pres, they stay square – the perfect foundation for a solid kitchen. Guaranteed for 15 years, but we expect the cabinets to last much longer. Exactly what you want when you’re investing in a new kitchen. The longer a kitchen lasts, the more sustainable it is. Painted in a soft light grey, the timber doors are easy on the eye. The solid oak open shelves above the sink match those at the end of the peninsula. They also tie in with the smaller unit's worktop and upstand in the dining area. The timber shelves conceal flush under-mounted energy-saving LED lights to light the sink area below. All hinges and drawer runners are solid and come with a lifetime guarantee from Blum. Mixing heirlooms with the contemporary The new kitchen design works much better as a social space, allowing cooking, food prep and dining in one characterful room. Our client was keen to mix a modern and contemporary style with their more traditional family heirlooms, such as the dining table and chairs. Also key was incorporating high-end technology and gadgets, including a pop-up socket in the Quartz IQ worktop peninsula. Now, the room boasts underfloor heating, two fantastic single ovens, induction hob and under counter wine fridge. The original kitchen was much, much smaller. The footprint of the new space covers the space of the old kitchen, a living room, WC and utility room. The images below show the development in progress. By relocating the WC to just outside the kitchen and using RSJs to open up the space, the entire room benefits from the flow of natural light through the patio doors.
