Kitchen design with large Island to seat four in a barn conversion to create a comfortable family home. The original stone wall was refurbished, as was the timber sliding barn doors.

“With the open-concept floor plan, this kitchen needed to have a galley layout,” Ellison says. A large island helps delineate the kitchen from the other rooms around it. These include a dining area directly behind the kitchen and a living room to the right of the dining room. This main floor also includes a small TV lounge, a powder room and a mudroom. The house sits on a slope, so this main level enjoys treehouse-like canopy views out the back. The bedrooms are on the walk-out lower level.“These homeowners liked grays and neutrals, and their style leaned contemporary,” Ellison says. “They also had a very nice art collection.” The artwork is bright and colorful, and a neutral scheme provided the perfect backdrop for it. They also liked the idea of using durable laminate finishes on the cabinetry. The laminates have the look of white oak with vertical graining. The galley cabinets are lighter and warmer, while the island has the look of white oak with a gray wash for contrast. The countertops and backsplash are polished quartzite. The quartzite adds beautiful natural veining patterns and warm tones to the room.

Partnering with Picasso Homes and Tausha Marie Photography. Situated in the historic neighborhood of the Broadmoor, this modern newly constructed home still carries a casual elegance that feels right at home in the luxury area. The cool and neautral palette is calming and very comfortable!

Our client was moving into a newly built family home in Inverallochy and wanted a kitchen that would be modern and functional. Their requirements included a large central island, a separate coffee-making area, and matching furniture to optimise the space. The Nolte Lux range was selected for this kitchen, pairing Magnolia colour furniture with Lava on tall units. This choice struck a balanced aesthetic while maintaining a modern look. We used 20mm Silestone Coral Clay for the island worktop and contrasted it with Nolte 40mm Platinum Bough Oak on the perimeter, including a 100mm breakfast bar. We used all NEFF appliances including two single ovens, a microwave, warming drawer, and induction hob to fulfill every culinary need. A Blanco Subline 1 ½ undermounted sink in Tartufo and a Quooker Fusion Square Stainless Steel instant boiling water tap were added for ease of use. The matching TV unit, matching sideboard type unit and a large freestanding table with a bench utilised the Nolte product to the maximum. Interested in redesigning your kitchen? This "Miami" kitchen features a handle-less design across all doors and drawers. The island is shown here in grey matte lacquer and tall units in Eucalyptus wood veneer. Aluminum framed glass doors creates elegant display units. Sturdy floating shelves made from lacquered steel mounted on Eucalyptus veneer panels. Wall mounted base unit provide additional storage while functioning as a sideboard.
