Beautiful "Transitional" kitchen design. Painted white, raised panel cabinets on the wall with a contrasting Cherry Slate island. The floors are a porcelain wood plank. Counter tops are two different materials. We used a beige quartz in the kitchen and quartzite on the island. The backsplash is largely 3x6 white ceramic subway tile with an accent above the cooktop. The hood is custom made by Matt Reidhead. Gorgeous Tedd Wood cabinetry in the Stockton Door Maple White painted perimeter. Cherry wood Hood, Island, and Wet bar in "Morning Mist" stained finish. Counter tops were "Taj Mahal" Quartzite, and tile is Stellar Trestle in Hidden Cove. This kitchen is the 1st place winner of Tedd Wood's national "Picture Perfect" design contests transitional catagory, designed by Jennifer Jacob of Builders General Supply, Toms River, NJ.

The original kitchen was designed and built by the original homeowner, needless to say neither design nor building was his profession. Further, the entire house has hydronic tubing in gypcrete for heat which means to utilities (water, ventilation or power) could be brought up through the floor or down from the ceiling except on the the exterior walls. The current homeowners love to cook and have a seasonal garden that generates a lot of lovely fruits and vegetables for both immediate consumption and preserving, hence, kitchen counter space, two sinks, the induction cooktop and the steam oven were all 'must haves' for both the husband and the wife. The beautiful wood plank porcelain tile floors ensures a slip resistant floor that is sturdy enough to stand up to their three four-legged children. Utilizing the three existing j-boxes in the ceiling, the cable and rail system combined with the under cabinet light illuminates every corner of this formerly dark kitchen. This renovation transformed a dark cherry kitchen into an elegant space for cooking and entertaining. The working island features a prep sink and faces a Wolf 48” range and custom stainless steel hood with nickel strapping and rivet details. The eating island is differentiated by arched brackets and polished stainless steel boots on the elevated legs. A neutral, veined Quartzite for the islands and perimeter countertops was paired with a herringbone, ceramic tile backsplash, and rift oak textured cabinetry for style. Intelligent design features walnut drawer interiors and pull-out drawers for spices and condiments, along with another for lid storage. A water dispenser was expressly designed to be accessible yet hidden from view to offset the home’s well water system and was a favorite feature of the homeowner.
