Die Küche als Durchgangsraum mit zwei Verbindungen zu anderen Zimmern ist eine echte Herausforderung, die in diesem Fall edel und unauffällig gelöst wurde. Sowohl die Hochschränke als auch der Küchenblock als Kochinsel lassen den Raum geschlossen wirken, während der seitliche Durchgang zum Nebenraum offen bleibt.

Some clients have such great taste, that it’s easy to help create the kitchen of their dreams. Our client in this case had such passion for the design of her own kitchen that it made it such a fun collaborative experience that you don’t always get with clients. She put her heart and soul into making sure every detail was exactly the way she wanted. This kitchen is only a small piece of a well-appointed home. The 1” thick custom door (from Bilotta’s private custom cabinet collection), traditionally styled, yet not overly so, matches beautifully with the details of the adjacent rooms. The grey colored cabinetry blends with the colors in the adjoining rooms creating the perfect centerpiece. The client chose a massive stone Francois & Co. Toulouse Shelf w/ Concave Stack hood from a dealer in London and had it shipped over on a boat! She selected beautiful “Mother of Pearl” knobs from Anthropologie and adorned select cabinets with them like pieces of jewelry. The naturally pearlescent clay tile, the Quartzite countertops and the lanterns above the island were all chosen to mirror these knobs. The lanterns were also chosen to replicate the movement of the gold pattern in the knobs. The client opted to turn the tile on the diagonal as it felt more fluid and in keeping with the movement in the knobs and lanterns. The stone hood, tile, and quartzite sample coordinated perfectly. The room was equipped with a mix of SubZero Wolf and Miele appliances with a Kohler apron sink. The space of course has the perfect amount of accessories for making it more than just visually appealing – it’s a baker’s dream with a lift up for a frequently used mixer. There’s a built-in paper towel holder and just the right amount of utensil dividers, cutlery dividers, tray dividers, roll-outs and even a secret pantry with matching cabinetry hidden in the corner. This transitional kitchen design is as elegant as it is functional. Built in 1999, this kitchen has remained nearly untouched. With the need for a more functional space and storage, our team was able to completely rethink this kitchen design within its original footprint. Here we addressed a load bearing wall, allowing for an expansion of usable space and opened up the living area to feel more warm and inviting. By far this kitchen’s most notable feature is the custom cabinetry which creates an efficient and effective use of space.

The open-concept of space keeps the house feeling free and bright! Dark cabinets with a built-in fridge are offset by a bright quartz island with double waterfall edges.

A warm and inviting space to wake up to, cook your favourite meals and share special times with family and friends. The heart of the home, most definitely in Raven House, a large room overlooking the plush garden. A mix of old and new, incorporating pieces from the families travels, with hints of Mexico, India and Africa, this kitchen is brimming with spice.

The main island stayed in its original shape with minor arranging of appliances and adding drawers. The second island was enlarge slightly to accommodate a better selection of appliances as we added a second dish washer drawer and ice maker. Again we used better storage solutions when replacing the old cabinetry.

If you’re cooking up a storm for the family or entertaining friends with afternoon tea, a kitchen island doesn’t have to be conventional. Surprising design features are a hallmark of every Tom Howley design. Sweeping breakfast bars, curved islands and clever lighting arrangements create an environment that exceeds your expectations. This elegant design is understated in its use of colour which allows the unique, multi-level curved island to take centre stage. With its concealed lighting, it really adds an aesthetic quality to the room that has become synonymous with the Tom Howley brand.
