All the wood used in the remodel of this ranch house in South Central Kansas is reclaimed material. Berry Craig, the owner of Reclaimed Wood Creations Inc. searched the country to find the right woods to make this home a reflection of his abilities and a work of art. It started as a 50 year old metal building on a ranch, and was striped down to the red iron structure and completely transformed. It showcases his talent of turning a dream into a reality when it comes to anything wood. Show him a picture of what you would like and he can make it!

Historic homes are a hidden gem, and when this client approached me about remodeling her family home in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Dallas I knew we had a diamond in the rough. Under many layers of vinyl tile and plywood, the kitchen floors revealed pristine hardwoods waiting to be brought to life. An inefficient vintage kitchen had begun to break down and cramp the client's style and productivity. Mullioned windows obstructed the client's view and hindered her from connecting with nature. The detail elements such as soft arches transitioning from room to room were lost in a sea of white. This beloved home had become something it wasn't meant to be. Our goal was to help it welcome friends and family with open arms and provide a casual atmosphere in which to love, laugh and relax. We needed to transform it all; floors, walls, kitchen and bedrooms. We left no stone unturned until we had the perfect collaboration of traditional family heirlooms mixed in with a modern palette. New brown stained floors, grey European style cabinets, white quartz counters, textured backsplash tile, mullion free vinyl windows and an open floorplan modernized this kitchen while staying true to its natural roots. Neutral gray walls collaborate with dark accents in the arches to define their detail. Reupholstering the furniture in patterned fabrics updated each room to span the spectrum of traditional to modern. Vintage modern-style kitchen inspired by the home owner's collection of Bauer-ware dishes that were inherited from her grandmother. A non-load bearing wall was removed between the kitchen and dining area to create additional counter and storage space, as well as a more open and modern aesthetic.

Vintage modern-style kitchen inspired by the home owner's collection of Bauer-ware dishes that were inherited from her grandmother. New honed quartz counter tops with a waterfall edge detail extend the useable space past the original footprint of the kitchen. The custom cabinets have lacquered face frames with overlay slab doors made of distressed laminate.

The client was so surprised and thrilled with the walnut shelf. A simple gesture to bring a moment of organic warmth to an otherwise slick space. The backsplash is glazed lava, so it has an earthen attitude as well.

This beautiful beach home features cabinets from the Medallion gold series. The doors are Providence, flat panel doors with Dove Appaloosa finish. The quartz countertop is Cambira's Ella with an eased edge profile and an undermount sink. The hardware is from Top Knobs, the Griggs series 5" pulls on the doors and drawers. The hood is a 30" GE stainless steel wall-mount chimney hood. The microwave is an under-counter model that maximizes counter space.
