For this project, the initial inspiration for our clients came from seeing a modern industrial design featuring barnwood and metals in our showroom. Once our clients saw this, we were commissioned to completely renovate their outdated and dysfunctional kitchen and our in-house design team came up with this new this space that incorporated old world aesthetics with modern farmhouse functions and sensibilities. Дерево и бетон – то сочетание материалов, которое является основным в этом помещении. Стены выполнены в декоративной штукатурке под бетон. На кухонном полу изначально планировали уложить микроцемент, чтобы уйти от использования плитки, но в связи с техническими особенностями пирога пола и риском появления трещин был заказан крупноформатный керамогранит с текстурой бетона. В зоне гостиной уложена инженерная доска разной ширины: 210, 140 и 100 мм, что помогло создать сложный рисунок пола. Кухонный гарнитур выполнен в том же сочетании материалов: бетон+дерево. Стилистической особенностью данного помещения можно считать прием графического деления стены на секторы разного оттенка и фактуры, акцент сделан на глубокий синий цвет. Дабы подчеркнуть четкость линий и строгость интерьера, между секторами в слой штукатурки был вмонтирован металлический уголок (видна тонкая металлическая полоса толщиной 3 мм). Освещению, в свою очередь, уделялось особое внимание, ведь нашей задачей было создать большое количество вариаций сценарием освещения, так как это место предназначено для сбора членов семьи вместе, игр с детьми, приготовления пищи, уютных ужинов и завтраков, да и в целом кухня-гостиная - это смысловой центр жилого пространства квартиры. Безусловно помещение имеет большое количество функций и требует такую же гибкость в самом интерьере. Помимо подсветки рабочей поверхности кухни, имеется и основной технический свет в виде точечных светильников, а также люстра над обеденным столом. В зоне гостиной есть основная подсветка светодиодными лентами, скрытыми в нишах, а диван и журнальный столик подсвечиваются встроенными в потолок кольцевыми лампами. Каждый источник света имеет свой выключатель, благодаря чему есть возможность организовать как яркое освещение, так и приглушенную подсветку для спокойных вечеров и тихой беседы.

Full remodel of a 40 year old kitchen. The goal was to have a beautiful, functional space for an avid cook in a style that would stand the test of time. The natural cherry cabinetry blends with the natural woodwork in the home. Honed quartz countertops are beautiful and durable. The marble mosaic backsplash is the crown jewel which pulls it all together.

This renovation in Hitchin features Next125, the renowned German range, which is a perfect choice for a contemporary look that is stylish and sleek and built to the highest standards. We love how the run of tall cabinets in a Walnut Veneer compliment the Indigo Blue Lacquer and mirrors the wide planked Solid Walnut breakfast bar. The Walnut reflects other pieces of furniture in the wider living space and brings the whole look together. The integrated Neff appliances gives a smart, uncluttered finish and the Caesarstone Raw Concrete worktops are tactile and functional and provide a lovely contrast to the Walnut. Once again we are pleased to be able to include a Quooker Flex tap in Stainless Steel. This is a fantastic living space for the whole family and we were delighted to work with them to achieve a look that works across both the kitchen and living areas.

This beautiful kitchen is perfect for friends and family to gather around, cook meals together, or to simply enjoy an afternoon of baking with the kids. Tidal Marsh Overlook Our client asked Flavin Architects to envision a modern house on a steeply sloped site overlooking the Annisquam River in Cape Ann, MA. The home’s linear layout is oriented parallel to the contours of the hillside, minimizing site disturbance. The stacked massing and galvanized steel detailing of the home recall the industrial vernacular of the Gloucester waterfront, and the dark color helps the house settle into its wooded site. To integrate the house more fully with its natural surroundings, we took our client’s suggestion to plant a tree that extends up through the second-floor deck. An exterior steel stair adjacent to the tree leads from the parking area to a second-floor deck and the home’s front door. The first-floor bedrooms enjoy the privacy provided by black painted wood screens that extend from the concrete pad to the second-floor deck. The screens also soften the view of the adjacent road, and visually connects the second-floor deck to the land. Because the view of the tidal river and wetlands is improved by a higher vantage point, the open plan kitchen, living, and dining areas look over the deck to a view of the river. The master suite is situated even higher, tucked into the rear on the third floor. There, the client enjoys private views of the steep woodland bank behind the house. A generous screen porch occupies the front of the house, facing the marsh, providing space for family gatherings and a sleeping porch to enjoy the breezes on hot summer nights.
