What we have here is an expansive space perfect for a family of 5. Located in the beautiful village of Tewin, Hertfordshire, this beautiful home had a full renovation from the floor up. The clients had a vision of creating a spacious, open-plan contemporary kitchen which would be entertaining central and big enough for their family of 5. They booked a showroom appointment and spoke with Alina, one of our expert kitchen designers. Alina quickly translated the couple’s ideas, taking into consideration the new layout and personal specifications, which in the couple’s own words “Alina nailed the design”. Our Handleless Flat Slab design was selected by the couple with made-to-measure cabinetry that made full use of the room’s ceiling height. All cabinets were hand-painted in Pitch Black by Farrow & Ball and slatted real wood oak veneer cladding with a Pitch Black backdrop was dotted around the design. All the elements from the range of Neff appliances to décor, blended harmoniously, with no one material or texture standing out and feeling disconnected. The overall effect is that of a contemporary kitchen with lots of light and colour. We are seeing lots more wood being incorporated into the modern home today. Other features include a breakfast pantry with additional drawers for cereal and a tall single-door pantry, complete with internal drawers and a spice rack. The kitchen island sits in the middle with an L-shape kitchen layout surrounding it. We also flowed the same design through to the utility.

A bespoke Shaker kitchen in London painted in 'Lamp Black' by Little Greene Paint Company. The Silestone Lagoon Quartz worktops look great against the dark painted cupboards. The Armac Martin Cotswold Mushroom Knob and Drawer Pull handles are in a burnished brass finish. The ovens and hob are by Gaggenau, and the striking pendant light is the Peppermill Interiors 10 Bulb Pipework Industrial Style Ceiling Light. Both the 'Newbury Leather Dining Room Chair' and the 'Strand Leather Bar Stool' are by Peppermill Interiors.

Goals for the kitchen: Create a statement. The island is adorned with Bently quartz from Cambria. It steered each selection of the kitchen from the black chevron backlash to the gold bamboo-look pendants. The appliances coordinate with the black and gold finishes as well, the JennAir range’s is dressed in brass bezel accents and the stainless-steel apron-front sink is brushed with a brass decorative front.

For our latest project – a navy blue and oak kitchen - artistry meets practicality to ensure a contemporary space which offers true ‘wow factor’. Embracing the timeless appeal of Matt lacquer RAL 5004 Black Blue, seamlessly paired with the warmth of Syncroface Oak, this kitchen design features a Marbled White Quartz worktop. To bring balance to the space, we combined open and closed shelving, striking a perfect equilibrium between accessible display and discreet storage. The art of wine appreciation finds its ideal abode with bottle storage nestled thoughtfully beneath the cosy coffee nook. The cross-reeded glass cabinet door crowning the coffee nook shelf is a nod to classic elegance and modern style. Functionality and convenience merge seamlessly with the inclusion of the innovative Quooker tap, providing instant boiling water, when required. As our clients prepare their meals, the geometric backsplash adds a delightful visual accent. We cleverly incorporate a hidden sink for a clutter-free countertop, maintaining the kitchen's seamless aesthetic while ensuring the workspace stays neat and organised. The addition of wooden cabinet door handles further enhances the natural charm of this contemporary kitchen, creating a tactile and inviting environment for every cooking adventure.
