La rénovation de cette cuisine a été travaillée en tenant compte des envies de mes clients et des différentes contraintes techniques. La cuisine devait rester fonctionnelle et agréable mais aussi apporter un maximum de rangement bien qu'il ne fût pas possible de placer des caissons en zone haute.

Kitchen is Center In our design to combine the apartments, we centered the kitchen - making it a dividing line between private and public space; vastly expanding the storage and work surface area. We discovered an existing unused roof penetration to run a duct to vent out a powerful kitchen hood. The original bathroom skylight now illuminates the central kitchen space. Without changing the standard skylight size, we gave it architectural scale by carving out the ceiling to maximize daylight. Light now dances off the vaulted, sculptural angles of the ceiling to bathe the entire space in natural light.

Even if the actual square footage is limited, glass allows light to travel through it, creating the illusion of a larger space. Один из реализованных нами проектов – кухня Häcker Bristol. Рамочные фасады произведены из массива ясеня и сверху покрыты матовым лаком цвета бархатный синий. Верхний ряд шкафов визуально облегчен за счет стеклянных вставок. Столешница изготовлена из ламината в контрастном оттенке Саленто серо-бежевый. Чтобы избежать лишних акцентов, мойку и смеситель подобрали в тон рабочей поверхности. Вся бытовая техника, за исключением духового шкафа, встроена в шкафы с глухими фасадами. Для удобства пользования рабочей поверхностью в нижние панели навесные шкафов встроены LED-светильники. Данная модель спроектирована для помещения, объединившего в себе несколько функциональных зон: столовую, гостиную и кухню. Дизайнер проекта – Ольга Тищенко.

The brief for this unique kitchen was for it to be ‘a huge piece of furniture’. Well….. challenge accepted. To achieve this goal, we knew that we needed to approach the design from the details outwards, so we started with the cabinet doors. As the kitchen was to be over three levels rather than the traditional two, and because we wanted to articulate the idea of ‘furniture’ rather than ‘kitchen cabinets’, we designed three complimentary cabinet doors, each with their own personalities. Door pulls and pan hooks were made from beautiful hexagonal brass rods, and drawers were lined for cutlery, utensils and cookware. A slim shelf above the splashback provided a place for kitchen essentials like salt and oil. The mid-level of the kitchen was kept clean and uncluttered by means of our signature F+B ‘School House’ off-white lacquer, so that the wood didn’t feel overpowering. But the main event is the truss shelf that spans the open side of the kitchen like a portal frame. This beautifully detailed piece of Japanese-inspired design gives space for the client’s collection of Asian ceramics, and for our bespoke Japanese shoji paper lanterns, which light the space. A unique kitchen, handmade like only a furniture maker could.

Clients needed full rehab of kitchen and powder room. It dated back to the 70s. Heating and cooling was inefficient, asbestos existed under the linoleum floor and had to be abated, the lighting was poor and an old addition to the kitchen created uneven flooring, busy backsplash and flooring created a dark area. KTID worked with contractors to have asbestos removed, flooring replaced, cabinets replaced and added new cabinets. The style was updated to a more contemporary style, lighting was upgraded, artistic elements were added to the glass sheet backsplash, windows were replaced with more efficient and larger windows, builtin cabinets were added to the old kitchen addition. Prairie style door pulls were used and the larger windows brought in the outside, Prairie Style.
