After many years of careful consideration and planning, these clients came to us with the goal of restoring this home’s original Victorian charm while also increasing its livability and efficiency. From preserving the original built-in cabinetry and fir flooring, to adding a new dormer for the contemporary master bathroom, careful measures were taken to strike this balance between historic preservation and modern upgrading. Behind the home’s new exterior claddings, meticulously designed to preserve its Victorian aesthetic, the shell was air sealed and fitted with a vented rainscreen to increase energy efficiency and durability. With careful attention paid to the relationship between natural light and finished surfaces, the once dark kitchen was re-imagined into a cheerful space that welcomes morning conversation shared over pots of coffee. Every inch of this historical home was thoughtfully considered, prompting countless shared discussions between the home owners and ourselves. A Marcus Daly Home Historic kitchen renovation from the 1930's updated with modern cabinets and appliances, tile and electronics such as charging stations ect. Done in Columbia Cabinets, PP430 Shaker Style cabinets in a Silver Cloud painted finish to match the existing 1930's cabinetry.

With authentic porthole windows, salvaged from a real ocean liner, the kitchen is a slightly belowground space in a townhouse. Here, white glass tile subtly changes color to blues, reminiscent of the ocean. The fittings display nautical metaphors, as well. Even the drapery treatment suggests being aboard ship. Silver and gold accents meld seamlessly together.

The homeowner replaced appliances and de-cluttered counter-tops and cabinets. We selected a new blue upholstery fabric for the chairs to coordinate with the sofa in the adjacent family room and bring out the color of the cabinet doors.

Reforma efectuada por el Arquitecto Miguel Rami Guix en Barcelona. Todo gira ante el mueble central situado entre la cocina y el dormitorio con una gran puerta corredera en la cocina que hace integrarlo tanto en la cocina como en el propio salon cuando la puerta permanece abierta. Es por ello que los tiradores tanto de la cocina como del dormitorio sean los mismos. Una barra tratada de madera al natural. Tanto la puerta de la cocina como la del baño principal comparten el mismo diseño de láminas blancas. Al igual que el suelo de la cocina siendo el mismo utilizado en la terraza acristalada. Un nouveau carrelage 15X15 rouge et jaune posé en losange a été posé. De nouveau meubles de cuisine ont été installés. La porte-fenêtre menant au balcon a été remplacée, comme toutes les fenêtres de l'appartement, dito l'existant.
