The modern kitchen of the 1950’s was streamlined with built-in appliances and ample cabinet storage! Unfortunately, modern of the 50’s isn’t so modern anymore so these homeowners tore the kitchen out and along with it, a wall. I was called in after demo was completed to help with the design! A good kitchen design isn’t just about aesthetics — gorgeous cabinets, beautiful floors, fabulous appliances, and one-of-a-kind countertops. Although those are all very important, function and organization are always my first priority. Organization isn’t just about having a space designated for each kitchen item. It has more to do with keeping all your necessary gadgets used for a certain task within reach. Even small kitchens can have different zones. In this kitchen we designated the back wall for the baking area. And in doing so, we made sure there was ample space and organization for all of their baking goodies. We even added a few more inches of depth to the wall cabinet to accommodate storage needs. Every era has trending colors! We chose to stay with the classic white and a neutral cappuccino to do a two-tone cabinet. Then we accented the baking cabinets with charcoal. Unless you are feeling inspired by a new trending color, only a splash of the color is necessary to update your space. If you aren’t brave enough to put it on your cabinets, bring it in through a rug or some new accessories. Granite will always be my number one choice for countertops! It’s durability, color range, and uniqueness set it apart from all the man-made options out there. This color, Santa Cecilia, has been a popular color for ages and blends seamlessly with the kitchen palette. We are spoiled today to have so many options for our kitchens! The corner site, at the junction of St. Matthews Avenue and Chamberlain Way and delimited by a garden with mature trees, is located in a tranquil and leafy area of Surbiton in Surrey. Located in the north-east cusp of the site, the large two-storey Victorian suburban villa is a large family home combined with business premises, whereby part of the Ground Floor is used as Nursery. The property has been extended by FPA to improve the internal layout and provide additional floor space for a dedicated kitchen and a large Living Room with multifunctional quality. FPA has developed a proposal for a side extension to replace a derelict garage, conceived as a subordinate addition to the host property. It is made up of two separate volumes facing Chamberlain Way: the smaller one accommodates the kitchen and the primary one the large Living Room. The two volumes - rectangular in plan and both with a mono pitch roof - are set back from one another and are rotated so that their roofs slope in opposite directions, allowing the primary space to have the highest ceiling facing the outside. The architectural language adopted draws inspiration from Froebel’s gifts and wood blocs. A would-be architect who pursued education as a profession instead, Friedrich Froebel believed that playing with blocks gives fundamental expression to a child’s soul, with blocks symbolizing the actual building blocks of the universe. Although predominantly screened by existing boundary treatments and mature vegetation, the new brick building initiates a dialogue with the buildings at the opposite end of St. Matthews Avenue that employ similar materials and roof design. The interior is inspired by Scandinavian design and aesthetic. Muted colours, bleached exposed timbers and birch plywood contrast the dark floor and white walls. Gianluca Maver

From 1978 dark cabinets to warm and inviting! We relocated cooking from the island to the wall to allow for a professional quality range with premium venting. We took advantage of a large open wall in this spacious footprint and converted it into a coffee station for these avid coffee connoisseurs. On the opposite wall we created a banquette for casual everyday meals that transitions into a floating desk, perfect for managing life's craziness in the heart of the home. Features include a drop zone inside the end cabinet on the refrigerator wall, perfect for quick access to keys and the mail drop zone as it's just off the garage. The custom mosaic tile backsplash was a fun opportunity to bring in all their favorite accent colors in small doses.

Oak wood cabinets went against the grain for this homeowner. Previously, the former kitchen yielded a yawn-worthy amount of neutral sub-par wood grains. Now, the new remodel is enveloped in warm, inviting taupe hues. Going from woodgrain to flat color instantly infuses a clean, fresh palette. The combination of flat color in a warm tone offers the same warmth of wood. From traditional to a modern minimalist sensibility, the homeowners refaced existing cabinets in Prestige Statesman Beaded Edge style doors are accented with satin nickel hardware. Additionally, the homeowners knew refacing was an excellent choice. Refacing offers a quicker solution to transform sturdy existing cabinetry to a brand-new effect. As for the countertops, Cambria Quartz in Brittanicca brings a fresh, rich effect with a simple cream swirl to coordinate perfectly with the stone-hued cabinetry. A round over edge brings a minimalistic look to make a designer statement. The Brittanicca pattern in engineered quartz suggests the look of marble yet offers significantly more durability and antimicrobial properties. Meanwhile, a solution for the underused space over the kitchen radiator was needed, adding that the area now serves as a highly functional pantry. The custom pantry was the "icing on the cake," particularly with glass front doors, to create a focal point. In all, the design choice also works to expand the kitchen visually.

La cucina ha conservato la sua autonomia spaziale ma grazie alla porta scorrevole filo muro si mantiene continuità con gli ambienti comunicanti come la sala da pranzo. Inoltre la porta scorrevole consente di ricavare spazio che una classica occuperebbe. A terra troviamo un pavimento in vinile effetto parquet che si allinea allo stile country della cucina già in possesso, e perché consigliabile per abitazioni prossime al mare e in presenza di animali domestici. Per il paraspruzzi si è scelto piastrelle 10x30 bianche lucide montate con un disegno sfalsato.

Upon entering this kitchen, initially there were very few lower cabinets, no dishwasher for a client who loves to cook. We installed beautiful lower cabinets, brand new appliances, quartz countertop with a modern edge, and a gorgeous backsplash to keep the space open and inviting. The walls we kept bright with wand free faux wood blinds perfect for cleaning! We even surprised our client with a new keurig and organizers for the kitchen with full staging to KEEP!

This beautiful retirement home was transitioned in a taupe, creamy, paradise. The beautiful accents in the home make the whole space pop with calming colors. The important factor of this remodel was making this new house feel like home for these homeowners, which is exactly what we did. Now this space is comforting, beautiful, and functions for the home owner's everyday.
