We transformed an outdated, lack luster beach house on Fripp Island into a coastal retreat complete with southern charm and bright personality. The main living space was opened up to allow for a charming kitchen with open shelving, white painted ship lap, a large inviting island and sleek stainless steel appliances. Nautical details are woven throughout adding to the charisma and simplistic beauty of this coastal home. New dark hardwood floors contrast with the soft white walls and cabinetry, while also coordinating with the dark window sashes and mullions. The new open plan allows an abundance of natural light to wash through the interior space with ease. Tropical vegetation form beautiful views and welcome visitors like an old friend to the grand front stairway. The play between dark and light continues on the exterior with crisp contrast balanced by soft hues and warm stains. What was once nothing more than a shelter, is now a retreat worthy of the paradise that envelops it.

Three level island... The homeowner’s wanted a large galley style kitchen with island. It was important to the wife the island be unique and serve many purposes. Our team used Google Sketchup to produce and present concept after concept. Each revision brought us closer to what you see. The final design boasted a two sided island (yes, there is storage under the bar) 6” thick cantilevered bar ledge over a steel armature, and waterfall counter tops on both ends. On one end we had a slit fabricated to receive one side of a tempered glass counter top. The other side is supported by a stainless steel inverted U. Recessed lighting ensures that the area is well-lit, enhancing the reflective surfaces and creating an inviting ambiance for both cooking and social gatherings. Transitioning to the bathroom, the space is a testament to modern luxury. The freestanding tub acts as a centerpiece, inviting relaxation amidst a spa-like atmosphere. The walk-in shower, enclosed by clear glass, is accentuated with a marble surround that matches the vanity top. Well-appointed fixtures and recessed shelving add both functionality and a sleek aesthetic to the bathroom. Each design element has been meticulously selected to provide a sanctuary of sophistication and comfort. This home represents a marriage of elegance and pragmatism, ensuring that each room is not just a sight to behold but also a space to live and create memories in.

Cookbooks. A place for my clients much loved books was high on the list of reccommendations for thier family‘s new kitchen design. Not being able to part from any, my client needed a dedicated space for them to display amongst the design. The existing formal closed loving at the front of the home, entered into a separate compact kitchen and dining were to be transformed into an open, free flowing interior not disrupted by walls but somewhere the whole family were able to gather. A soft palette layered with fresh whites, large slabs of clouded concrete benches, planked Jarrah timber floors finished with solid timber Blackbutt accents allow for seamless integration into the home‘s interior. Cabinetry compliments the expansive length of the kitchen, whilst the simplicity of design provides impact to the home.

An already beautifully appointed home just needed a face lift in the tired kitchen to bring it up to par with the rest of the house. The clients originally considered refacing their existing kitchen cabinets, but then decided on a full remodel. The cabinets installed in the kitchen are Medallion Devonshire Door Style, Flat Center Panel, Painted White Chocolate. Hardware is Top Knobs 1 1/8” and 8 cc Appliance Pulls. The countertop is Giallo Traversella Granite 1/2” Round with 4” Backsplash on the Refrigerator and Garage walls. The backsplash is Petal Mosiac in the Foundation Color. A Blanco Diamond Silgranite sink in Truffle color and Moen Arbor Pullout Faucet in Chrome finish.

We used an open floor plan for the kitchen and dining, with both being part of the great room together with the living room. For this contemporary gray kitchen and dining, we used flush cabinet surfaces to achieve a minimalist and modern look. The backsplash is made with beautiful 3” x 16” light gray tiles that perfectly unite the white wall cabinets and the darker gray base cabinets. This monochromatic color scheme is also evident on the white dining table and countertops, and the gray and white chairs. We opted for an extra large kitchen island that provides an additional surface for food preparation and having quick meals. The modern island pendant lights serve as the functional centerpiece of the kitchen and dining area.

We were commissioned to design and build a new kitchen for this terraced side extension. The clients were quite specific about their style and ideas. After a few variations they fell in love with the floating island idea with fluted solid Utile. The Island top is 100% rubber and the main kitchen run work top is recycled resin and plastic. The cut out handles are replicas of an existing midcentury sideboard. MATERIALS – Sapele wood doors and slats / birch ply doors with Forbo / Krion work tops / Flute glass.

Residing in Philadelphia, it only seemed natural for a blue and white color scheme. The combination of Satin White and Colonial Blue creates instant drama in this refaced kitchen. Cambria countertop in Weybourne, include a waterfall side on the peninsula that elevate the design. An elegant backslash in a taupe ceramic adds a subtle backdrop.
