We were asked to help transform a cluttered, half-finished common area to an organized, multi-functional homework/play/lounge space for this family of six. They were so pleased with the desk setup for the kids, that we created a similar workspace for their office. In the midst of designing these living areas, they had a leak in their kitchen, so we jumped at the opportunity to give them a brand new one. This project was a true collaboration between owner and designer, as it was done completely remotely.

Destiné à accueillir un père et sa fille, nous avons choisi de privilégier l’espace jour en décloisonnant un maximum.Dans l’espace nuit d’à peine 20m2, avec une seule fenêtre, mais avec une belle hauteur de plafond, les verrières se sont imposées pour délimiter les chambres, tandis que nous avons exploité l’espace verticalement pour garder du volume au sol. Due to the property being a small single storey cottage, the customers wanted to make the most of the views from the rear of the property and create a feeling of space whilst cooking. The customers are keen cooks and spend a lot of their time in the kitchen space, so didn’t want to be stuck in a small room at the front of the house, which is where the kitchen was originally situated. They wanted to include a pantry and incorporate open shelving with minimal wall units, and were looking for a colour palette with a bit of interest rather than just light beige/creams.

The kitchen in this 50s era cottage, was always small, but this thoughtful renovation has maximised the storage and style. In a dramatic black and white scheme, the new kitchen has had a huge increase in benchspace, storage and function.

A small, outdated townhouse kitchen transformation by Curtis Lumber Co., Inc. provides the homeowner with the dream kitchen she desired: a space that reflects her personal style, more storage and a comfortable space for entertaining during the holidays. The black cabinets with the grey glass tile, make the kitchen look contemporary and sleek. Selecting a different cabinet color and depth in the bar/dining area allows the space to feel separate from the kitchen, although they share the same countertop. By adding the glass cabinets and glass backsplash, light is reflected making the space feel larger and brighter. The cabinetry is Wellborn Premier - Door Style: Saybrook; Wood Species: MDF. The Finish in the main kitchen is Onyx and Bright White in the dinning area. The countertops are Cambria quartz in Brittanicca. The tile backsplash is MSI Metallic Grey Herringbone Mosaic with Schluter Jolly Brushed Graphite Edging. The beautiful floors are Springfield Oak by Coretec.
