Pour une élégance parfaite, la partie cuisson a la possibilité d’être masquée grâce à une porte de placard pivotante intégrant de nombreux rangements. Ainsi, le four, la plaque, et le micro-ondes sont complètement invisibles une fois la porte refermée. Le réfrigérateur est également dissimulé derrière une façade de placard. Pour un design épuré, les façades des meubles hauts et bas ont été choisies lisses et sans aucune poignée.

This project was all about updating and refreshing the home. While the layout and overall style of the spaces worked for the most part for the client they wanted to clean it up a bit and add more durable surfaces and some more function. In the kitchen we maximized storage with taller wall cabinets, moved the oven to the island and added in a lot of customized storage to make everyday life just a little easier. In the bathroom we went for a more classic style and updated the vanity area with new cabinetry, countertops and lighting and added a sink to the makeup vanity along with open storage for easy access to often used items.

The owner wanted to update the family room and the kitchen of this 1970's splanch. By painting the brick wall white and adding custom built-ins we brightened up the space. The decor reflects our client's love for color and a bit of asian style elements. We also made sure that the sitting was not only beautiful, but very comfortable and durable. The sofa and the accent chairs sit very comfortably and we used the performance fabrics to make sure they last through the years. We also wanted to highlight the art collection which the owner curated through the years. We enlarged the kitchen by removing a partition wall that divided it from the dining room and relocated the entrance. Our goal was to create a warm and inviting kitchen, therefore we selected a mellow, neutral palette. The cabinets are soft Irish Cream as opposed to a bright white. The mosaic backsplash makes a statement, but remains subtle through its beige tones. We selected polished brass for the hardware, as well as brass and warm metals for the light fixtures which emit a warm and cozy glow. For beauty and practicality, we used quartz for the working surface countertops and for the island we chose a sophisticated leather finish marble with strong movement and gold inflections. Because of our client’s love for Asian influences, we selected upholstery fabric with an image of a dragon, chrysanthemums to mimic Japanese textiles, and red accents scattered throughout. The Kensington blue kitchen was individually designed and hand made by Tim Wood Ltd. This light and airy contemporary kitchen features Carrara marble worktops and a large central island with a large double French farmhouse sink. One side of the island features a bar area for high stools. The kitchen and its design flow through to the utility room which also has a high microwave oven. This room can be shut off by means of a hidden recessed sliding door.
