This large kitchen in a converted schoolhouse needed an unusual approach. The owners wanted an eclectic look – using a diverse range of styles, shapes, sizes, colours and finishes. The final result speaks for itself – an amazing, quirky and edgy design. From the black sink unit with its ornate mouldings to the oak and beech butcher’s block, from the blue and cream solid wood cupboards with a mix of granite and wooden worktops to the more subtle free-standing furniture in the utility. Oak worktops and shelving attached to slate wall tiles marry perfectly with the limestone flooring. The Rayburn range has tray slots built on the side. Toffee the dog enjoys the warmth while Steve the antlers watches over.

Our first project for this thatched cottage (approx age: 250 years old) was a challenging one. Although the property is old, the owners wanted an environment full of all modern conveniences, including an electric Aga. It was a full renovation of the kitchen, including space planning to create an easy-to-use family kitchen with lots of storage, overseeing the removal of the old kitchen and the installation of the handmade shaker kitchen, sourcing all the ironmongery, lighting and appliances and having the polished marble work surface installed. Maximizing the functionality of this space, and coordinating the new kitchen with the beautiful remodel completed previously by the client were the two most important aspects of this project. The existing spaces are elegantly decorated with an open plan, dark hardwood floors, and natural stone accents. The new, lighter, more open kitchen flows beautifully into the client’s existing dining room space. Satin nickel hardware blends with the stainless steel appliances and matches the satin nickel details throughout the home. The fully integrated refrigerator next to the narrow pull-out pantry cabinet, take up less visual weight than a traditional stainless steel appliance and the two combine to provide fantastic storage. The glass cabinet doors and decorative lighting beautifully highlight the client’s glassware and dishes. This was a full home renovation of an 1980's home. With the homeowners wanting to keep the flow within the living spaces we installed the same flooring through out, as well as kept the colour palette soft and neutral. Adding in pops of red & black to add some interest completed the contemporary look of this house.

Custom Integrated Farmhouse Sink w/ Granite Fabrication Sink. Paired with Dove White Cabinets with Glaze to create a sophisticated, modern twist on a Farmhouse Style.

The kitchen was designed using a combination of low level and wall units reaching into every corner, finished with a set of tall units to provide maximum storage. The gloss cream flat doors with clean edges are softened by the curved end panels and features such as soft close hinges provide a high quality feel to the installation. Storage was carefully planned for and the design includes a space saving pull out larder unit, concealed recycling bin and decorative glass shelves. The kitchen features the latest Neff appliances, mid height oven with slide away door, combi-oven, gas hob, extractor fan, integrated washing machine, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The ‘Beach Grey’ quartz stone worktops and up stands gives a durable, scratch resistant work surface with etched drainer grooves leading to the stylish under mounted Franke ‘Fragranite’ sink and complimenting tap, suiting this style of kitchen perfectly. Underfloor heating was fitted beneath the large square Platinum Matt floor tiles. Energy saving LED Spotlights have been positioned in the ceiling along with under mounted LED lights under each wall unit to enhance features and create a low light in the evening if desired. The walls are painted in Little Green Paint Company’s ‘French Grey’ with a feature wall in ‘Mischief’ to provide a bold colour and contrast.
